Pack an extra bag with a couple of spare outfits for you both and keep it in the boot of your car. You can never be sure exactly how many days you'll be there for and you'll be glad to have the backup without sending Mr home! My husband definitely didn't bring enough clothes and was so grateful for fresh clothes (I definitely splashed him when my waters broke!! 🙈)

I get very moved with videos like this or when they share their birth story etc. It reminds me of my pregnancy and giving birth. It's so beautiful. Now my daughter is 8 and she is pretty with very long hair that nobody can touch and she likes lip gloss and wears my heels. But for me she is still that little red baby that smelled like baby powder that put on my breast almost an hour after I gave birth because I had a C section because she got born at 8 months. I was so unprepared. I had nothing with me. I went for a control and they kept me in. But you know it was so beautiful and I would do it a thousand times. I wish you all the best!!!!!

That you'll need to keep or give to the pediatrician. It was almost impossible to keep up with in the mist of new baby, and all the things that come with it. Congrats on the baby, And good vibes for a speedy delivery.

Exactly. For my second one, I didn’t even know I was having contractions since afternoon & was even ready to go to Costco since we needed stuff. Somehow my hubby asked me to be home since it wasn’t the need of the hour. I was casually lying down on my bed and watching Jeffree star videos & boom my water broke. I casually took my bag changed my clothes , combed hair.. put some gel liner on and left to the hospital with my mom hubby and elder one. Yes it was hurting but , u know u’ve been there , done that already. Lol

@@yesicamolina1710 They are a circular medicated pad that are actually used for external hemmroids. Women usually have some problems with them after giving birth. Some are lucky & don't 👍 but they might have to have an episiotomy or unfortunately not have time for one & they may have some tearing or ripping. The BEST ADVICE I WAS EVER GIVEN & I PASSED ALONG AS A NURSE IN MY OB ROTATION~ USE THE ALWAYS BIGGEST MOST ABSORBENT PAD ON THE MARKET~ LINE YOUR PAD FROM FRONT TO BACK OVER LAPPING THE TUX MEDICAITED PADS. DO THIS EVERY TIME YOU GO TO THE BATHROOM! TAKE A SITZ BATH AT LEAT 6 TIMES A DAY WHILE IN THE HOSPITAL. EVERYTIME YOU GO TO THE BATHROOM USE YOUR SQUIRT BOTTLE NOT TOILET PAPER. CONTINUE TO USE THIS WHEN USE GO HOME & REPEAT THE TUX PROCESS. I WAS FULLY HEALED WITH IN 1.5 WEEKS FROM BOTH RIPS & SURGICAL PROCEDURES. I HOPE THIS HELPS EXPLAIN. Go girl! Laboring in water is the best. I did that with both my kiddos and it did wonders. I would skip the makeup or just keep it simple (cc cream, etc.). Pack some nice thin sanitary napkins (the ones they give you at the hospital are like sitting on logs). They will have reusable bed pads, TAKE THOSE HOME WITH YOU. They will bill your insurance for them. These are the BEST item to have around with the new baby. They are comfortable for them to sleep on and they will help contain leaks and blow outs and double as a changing pad. My birthing coach told me to get these and I'm so glad I did! I'm excited for you! You got this!

As for food/drink. Make sure you have a variety because tastes can be very picky and drinking liquids is a huge thing to keep labor moving smoothly. As a homebirther of 2 kids, my midwives where always getting me to drink so make sure you have things you like! Watermelon is a great thing but can be a bit messy. As from experience with my first baby I wouldn't chance the risk of Going into labor at a home and wait to last minute to go, contractions really hurts when your going down the road, with the first feel of contractions start go straight to the Hospital right away. Plan ahead with your doctor of your concerns and questions, and drug plain. it will be worth it on your and the babys health when the baby's born... I say the less you feel with the pain the better! Don't wait till it's too late for an euperdural! .

I asked for morphine, 3 times before I got the Epidural because the first Epidural one didn't take because I moved and I was feeling desressed and in pain from the baby on my pelvis bone and I was 8 mm dialate and 2 days in labor with out anything drugs ! And at last moment the Dr, tell me I have a dip in my pelvic to keep me from having a natural birth and a small birth canale ... I wasn't expecting that I wasnt preparing for a c section and he could haved told me all that at our Dr visits ! (He always said everything looks good and nothing s wrong strong heartbeat, baby nice and Big and healthy we should my have any problems with me or the baby) Right before my a c section they gave me my 2nd Epidural and nothing happened to ease me or to help me. They didn't give it time to kick in good before the c section they rushed deliver my son, I grit through the pain and had a baby! I felt every minute of having him. I had a bad Dr from beginning to end of my pregnancy. I'm not saying everyone pregnancy deliveries are all like mine, but it's very important to be in the know and on the same page with your Dr. And make sure everything is right with you and your baby! ... You never know what changes mite come up at the last minute with you or your baby! change your Dr if you have too if things don't seem right to you or understand your concerns and questions you have, (i wished I did.) Please everyone who to be mother's out there. Please Ask all the questions you need too ask and prepare and take notes. Have a birth plain at hand, Because I wished I had the knowledge I know today. @@kelliewright8236 Oh I hope you didn't feel that I was coming at you... That is very intense what you went through! I agree that all avenues need to be viewed, talked about, and that one must educate themselves and be prepared... I was fortunate to birth my two children without complications. The 1st labor with my daughter I had one dose of stadel and that was awful for me. It made me so sick I was throwing up in full blown labor, so I was fortunate to not take anything when I birthed my son, which was a better experience for me. But if the unexpected happened which it could have, I would have opted for pain relief... I am so sorry that you had such a trying, long, & hard labor... I am thankful that you and your son made it through on the upside! I am sorry that it could have been better and that they made it so complicated and put you and your son in danger... Every woman should trust in there Dr's when there pregnant...but for my case I didn't have that chance, I wanted to say is this normal if the baby kicks me in the ribs? ... Why am I having extreme heartburn and peeing alot? Now I have to deal with big problems today because he was not honest with me from the beginning and answered my questions about my c section and what's he's done ... I was having alot of urine track infections with pain blood and burning after having my son, I found out By a specialist that my OBGYN cut into my bladder and removed my lefted tube with out my or my husband consent and I have a permanent damage. And he left gauze spounge inside of me. I had to have surgery to fix the damage he's done during my c section... I'm suing him for mile practice and indangerment of my health and my son's... My point is make sure you have the Right Dr. Check out your Dr for you and your child that is most important thing for everyone who's having a baby! As long as you are comfortable you take whatever you need! I am a chronic over packer but it does me good usually! I’m pregnant with my third and with my first two I was at the hospital for two or three nights after giving birth. I don’t like the hospital gown after I have the baby so I usually have all kinds of clothes. I always pack all my toiletries because there is nothing better after feeling clean after labor. I take a pillow and blanket because the hospital ones are so bad. I don’t think it’s way too much, I think everyone just needs to have what they want/need!

I’m sure you will work it out as you go along, I did for all 3 of my babies, and you can send hubby out to get anything - and I sure did, no matter how prepared I was, LOL. I believe it’s different for you guys in the US, than here in Australia. Here, they don’t send us home afterwards. We have to stay in the hospital for 3-5 days to monitor mother and baby, so I had to pack clothes to wear afterwards for me and baby as well, and I learnt to prioritise entertainment, because there are lots of periods of sitting and waiting. Load your devices with movies, music, shows, books/audio’s, etc. My hospital blocked Phone service, and you had to buy WiFi, yet other hospitals may have free WiFi. As you will need to change baby’s diaper pretty much on the hour, 24/7, same as feeding while they are newborn, you will tire of layers of clothing for your newborn - forget the onesie’s except for when you’re with guests/going out. Just put her in a top and her diaper, and keep her swaddled - she will always need to be swaddled while she’s a newborn. You will need a lot more swaddling blankets - ensure they are breathable, and at least 3 per day, there will be nappy blowouts and spit-ups while burping. And train yourself to sleep when baby sleeps!

From mom to mom, I say the less the better because most of everything you need is provided. I would say you need a pair of PJ's, your shower shoes, towel, an outfit to come home in, and phone charger. Pads/diapers/nipple cream are all provided as well as socks, and you'll have to wear the hospital underwear for a couple days to fit those huge pads they have. For me, the last thing I wanted to do after having my baby was to pack up all my stuff to leave. I just wanted to bring baby home with the quickness. 😊 Hope you have a healthy delivery!

My first I had nothing prepared, he came at 35 weeks and I was just getting my diaper bag packed so my husband grabbed what he could 😅. He took me jeans to come home in! But he brought me a pillow and my blanket and my mom went and got me pj's, robe, slippers. They got my make up but I was so tired I didn't use it. My second I was prepared. Got extra everything, took snacks for after labor. I wore make up the day after and took some pictures. You may be really tired and just sleep or you might have energy and have a mini shoot for you baby and get ready. I feel like hospitals are always cold and their blankets are not that warm not sure if birthing centers are the same way so I would say take your own blanket

I've watched your hair videos for a while and have never commented. So happy for you! You're going to be a great little momma. Take what makes you feel comfortable. Hindsight is 20/20. All us been there, done that moms will say you don't need it all, yet we also toted in anything and everything for the first baby. You literally don't know until you get there. My one big suggestion is either a long charging cable or a battery brick for your phone. There's never an outlet close enough and you may be on your phone a lot.

From what I remember it takes a couple of days for the remnants of the umbilical cord to dry up and come off the baby. That sounds terrible but it's an amazing process..seems like my mom told me to use a Q-tip and go around the navel with Vaseline. You probably know this because you've probably read up on it. Anyways, I hope it all goes well. 💜 I am so excited for you. 👍🏼 Snack possibility; raisins.

They usually don't let Mom snack just in case of emergency...it depends on how mean Dad is if he is going to snack in front of you...

So exciting! That is a lot of stuff, but that's okay. You do you, and whatever makes you feel comfortable to have. You can always leave some items in the car, and then Andrey can go grab them if need be. If you can, leave a house key with a family member and they can always grab something out of your house and take it to you. I had my son in 2010, and he was born in 5 hours. Literally just enough time to get to the hospital, get admitted, and start pushing before he popped out! I am a small gal, and my son was big, way bigger than I thought he'd be. So he never fit into "newborn" anything. I had an inflatable birthing ball that we took and never used because my labor was so fast. To this day, we now use it in our gym to do ab exercises!! :)

You are so prepared. I liked wearing the depends much more as well. There are some gel nipple pads you can get at most stores that really help with sore nipples from breast feeding. Especially if you put them in the fridge! Very soothing!

Girl I was gonna tell you to get some adult diapers! I bled a lot more than I realized and I had several stitches and the pads the hospital provided kept turning and the sticky side would be turned to my stitched up skin! I asked my mom to get me some diapers out of desperation and let me tell you... absolutely NO shame I will be bringing adult diapers for any more kids I have. It’s just so much easier! Witch hazel pads and spray lidocaine saved me too! Good luck girl! ❤️❤️❤️

Are the pillows and stuff really terrible in the US? I'm in the UK, and ours aren't the best, but I have had 2 babies (currently 30 weeks with my third) and I have honestly never felt the need for any thing like that. I'm not judging, genuine query here. On the flip side, you guys seem to be provided with a lot more at the hospital than we are over here, it honestly feels like you pretty much have to fend for yourself haha!

Definitely snacks, especially nuts if not allergic because they provide protein and help with mothers milk also lanolin for your breastfeeding problems
