Times have changed!! When I had my boys back in the day, I only had to bring 1 outfit for me to come home in and 1 outfit to bring the baby home in. The hospital supplied all the rest.

Maybe just because this is their first one. Second one they will probably just take the one outfit each 🙂. Also maybe they aren’t wanting to use the hospital’s things on their baby and only want to use their own 🤷♀️.

@@jenniferstout468 As my message says, I would bring 1 outfit for my baby and 1 for myself. The hospital provided me with all the toiletries/diapers etc. for the baby and myself. Maybe hospitals don't do that any longer (??)

I would ditch the pajamas and just wear gowns at the hospital after the baby is born. Doctor or nurse is going to be checking your incision, bleeding, etc. Also, I would pack a pair of socks. Labor and delivery room can be quite cold.

Just squeeze DREWS hands that’s what he is there for. This is what I wished someone would have told me before hand. Stay Strong! Prayers.

I’ve never heard that baby got a bath at the hospital. It was a tradition in my family that the maternal grandmother always gave new baby its first bath on second day home. (That 1st day home everyone usually just needs rest)! And what an honor when my turn finally came!

I work in Labor and Delivery, may I make a suggestion, bring your own PILLOWS. The pillows we have are very uncomfortable, flat, and very sparse. Just a suggestion. We do provide the essential for the moms and babies, but some of the moms prefer things from home. You will get soiled with the delivery and through the labor part of the process, just be sure you don't mind getting you labor gown soiled. I'm so excited for you and Drew, your going to be wonderful parents.

You’re super organized! I gave birth last summer and barely touched anything that I packed. Our doula told us to pack light and she was right. Use EVERYTHING the hospital has and they’ll send you home with goodies too! Another tip that was super helpful was that I made treat baskets (before giving birth) for the hospital staff (AM & PM shifts) to show how much we appreciate and respect their work. You’re almost there, mama!

I just had my son in December and one thing that I love to pass on to other new mamas is Bag Balm. We tried Desitin and Butt Cream on our son’s bottom and what got rid of redness the fastest was Bag Balm for cow utters. My mom used it on us after having troubles with my brother’s diaper rash and our babysitter who was a farmers wife recommended it. It’s awesome and a little goes a long way! We’re still using the same tin and it has a long way to go.

Hey Sweetie! You have everything down pat! So organized! I personally never used the hand mittens. I always kept my babies in the gowns with the covered hands or the footed onesie with the coved hands as those mittens would fall off. We're talking years ago! Hollie you're going to be the best Mommy. You are a perfectionist. Drew will be the best Daddy. You've both got this! Sit back and wait for the beautiful journey of birth!🤍💙👣

💜👵with my children in the 70's I just needed what I was bringing them home in and an outfit I could fit in to. Everything else was provided for. You needed a bag to bring all home. Diapers, powder, cream, wash cloth, towel, a bar of baby soap, comb and brush. For me pads, an extra pad belt and spray methilaid. Things have sure changed. Thank goodness. No snacks and no drinks after labor started. Happy times 👵💜👶

I will be there again for the 2nd birth, but she is having a home birth. It will be very personal experience for us all. Her mid wife uses YL and has all the oils and diffuser she will be using on my girl. It will be a water birth.

We thought we'd be out in less than a day. Then ended up with shirts surprise c section followed by a surprise infection and a 4 day stay. My partner was constantly making trips home to pick up stuff. So, my motto has forever changed to always overpack. It's awful to be stuck in a hospital and not have things when you need them and have to wait for them to arrive, including going through hospital check in security for every time he came back in. 😅😅 And we brought a lot of the things the hospital supplied home afterwards, but honestly we ended up replacing them with nicer things almost immediately because they just weren't working for us. It was nice that they had diapers and little shirts with long sleeves and mittens, but I think those are the only 2 hospital items we ended up using those entire 4 days. We looked like I'd moved in for a month long stay by the time we left. I definitely got judgy looks by the staff. But they did that about absolutely everything anyway. I'm definitely not planning on using much of the hospital supplies for kid 2. We learned our lessons. 😅 The earbuds are an AMAZING IDEA. Fans are great. I also wore my sunglasses for most of the labor. They had the bed right under a ceiling light and said they couldn't turn it off because the nurses needed it to see everything.

Holly I do know one thing I would recommend nipple cream for your breast . My daughter just had a baby last July and I can't strrss to you enough how much that helped her! Also Dermaplast if you have him naturaly will be your best friend stock up now they may give you some in the hospital but I would have some on hand at home just in case. Also you might want to order some ice packs to have on hand for you when you come home. They have these kind at the hospital you crush on your hand and they are so cool and feel so good on your bottom. You order something similar on line . Oh and Tucks pads you may want some of them. I hope these things are helpful. Be blessed with a precious little boy 💙👣👣 18:22
