Great break down! Gotta say, it really shows how much y'all care to share your experiences and nicks and knacks of how y'all hunt. Always a pleasure for my husband and I to watch.

What about packed clothing like a puffy and rain jacket? And your bow+quiver+arrows? You’ve gotta count either your bow or your trekking poles as carried weight. Do you pack an extra pair of socks? What about small essentials like a phone, car keys, and toothbrush? All that stuff adds up...

Great video. My pack averages about 48 lbs. it’s amazing how heavy water is. I use a Katadyn vario filter. It has carbon charcoal in it and make water smell and taste amazing!! I also have my daily meals packed in individual gallon sized bags.

kingpinkcleetheworm I run an alps commander. It works pretty good. A few things i would change on it but I didn't have a bunch of cash for a mystery ranch. But they now make one called the scapegoat. Its a nice pack. A little more expensive but worth the money

Troy Westerbur , I'm with you just bought the alps, x pack it's not awesome but for not a bunch of cash it will work and doubles as a meat pack. Witch is why I got it . More for that then for the pack in but I've been messing with how I'm gonna run it this year , I'm thinking I can camp between 3 and 4 days off my back .
@troywesterbur706
6 жыл бұрын
oldman withAbow yes its great as a meat pack. And convertable. The only drawback is it doesn't stay as a pack. And meat pack. But I am making multiple trips it is good. You can easly put 150 lbs on it or in my world a deboned front or hind end. Not quarter a half. And go six miles with it.
@troywesterbur706
6 жыл бұрын
10 Acres yes I would but I am not starting out. When starting not too many people can throw down min of 800 on a pack. I sure couldn't. Especially if you are not going to stick with it. Good boots alone are 200. A bow can be anywhere from a grand and up. Thats without arrows. Then camo. Easy to get 50,000 and not even been anywhere. My advice is start inexpensive and replace with the best. You will learn what you like and dont. And then not just throw money at a name. Because none of it will guarantee success. And lots are just useless gadgets.
