Nice kit, Grey. The spouse is home now so I'm currently learning that I made an excellent decision to NOT become a nurse. 😬 Lol. I'm sure the visiting nurse will teach me something new every time she comes. Blessings. 🌲🌲

Thanks JT, 😁 My best friend is a nurse and I'm always fielding him questions and trying to get deals on med supplies 🤣 He was a brother in arms "para rescue" and now is a travel nurse. He's always loved to help others. Solid man! God bless you & the hubby 🙏💛

Having a basic kit to grab is awesome! But I think having some special extra trauma items on hand is a must! Excellent review, thanks Grey!❣️

I totally agree! I personally feel that having a trauma kit(s) and and robust first-aid kit with a wide assortment of meds is key to medical preparedness 🤘😁

I personally bought a couple packs of celox gauze, granules, and plungers to add to my kit as well. Plus I bought Israeli pressure bandages because the pressure bandages you get in the pack, are low quality.

I like it GreyMan,i like whats in it, and how it's easily accessible. If I had one of these I probably put my own choice of an antibiotic cream, which for me personally barmicil compuesto works really good.. yes I know it's three different medicines but it works for me.. and I think I'd add some super glue. Just based on my injuries.. and I don't know I might throw a different tourniquet in there along with the one they had. Even before you started going through the bag I was saying what's the tourniquet look like.. the price for the bags are pretty expensive considering the items in there are not expensive themselves per se . I looked at the medic and it was on special or something for 500 and some-odd dollars no no ,too expensive, but now it's on my wishlist. Was I daydreaming or were tweezers in there?? Also I think I put a small bottle containing alcohol.. that's just how I roll. Thank you GreyMan ❤️✝️👍

I would definitely add some other things as well, and yes the pro kits can defiantly be a bit more pricey. I thought of using their refill kits (mod packs) and possibly seeing the cost of building my bag. The YT channel skinny medic I think is what turned me on to this company. I've built my own bags before whereas you can save some money. When it comes to medical stuff I try not to skimp, because someones life my depend on it. Blessings and thank you so much for your support 😁🙏

Hey Grey. At work i am fairly good friends with one of our paramedics who was a combat medic in Afghanistan. He has helped me put together my trauma/first responders bag and my ifak. He also has made sure that i know how and when to use everything. We can read and study for years, but getting first hand knowledge from someone who has used all the equipment and supplies was invaluable. The best advice i received from him is do not skimp or go cheap on medical supplies and equipment....ask yourself, how much is your life, or someone else's life worth? Great review. 👍

I own a recon kit and immediately added 2 SOF-T tourniquets to the exterior of the bag. I keep the RAT as a last resort option, completely agree with your viewpoint on it. Having used it in the field, it presents a major issue when trying to tighten it down with blood on your gloves. Great video, very informative and helpful.

Is it worth getting the standard model and then adding your own tourniquets or better to spring for the pro model.
@GreyManPrepping

The kits are pretty good. I would personally assess what you get and see if it's more cost-effective to add to the pack. The pro did have some great additions.

How well does the cat or sof tourniquet work on infants extremely small arms? Size doesn’t matter for a rat. I have about 20-25 cat, rat and sof tourniquets all over the place. In bags, every medical kit I’ve assembled, all my vehicles. I got a deal on rat tourniquets from a friend for $5 each. If I ever find myself at a mass casualty event I honestly can’t afford to give away 15 cat or sof tourniquets. The rats will work just fine. Don’t discount them to quickly, keep it in your bag.

Your absolute right, the rat TQ work better for infants as well as the sof t's as well. I have a specialized kit I've built out of infants & toddlers. I plan on putting several more together and sharing the ideas with the folks at my church.
