She teaches ancient Chinese literature in Chengdu while expressing her love and research of life and culture here in fluent Chinese. Sophia Grace, an American, fell in love with China because of her father, who loved Chinese culture. As a philosophy undergraduate from the University of Southern California, she quit her job in 2009 and moved to Chengdu to pursue her graduate and doctoral studies in ancient literature at Sichuan University. She has studied the literature of Wei, Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties, adored Guo Pu and Cao Cao, and dabbled in geography, local conditions and customs. Now, Sophia teaches ancient Chinese literature at Sichuan University, where she is an associate researcher in the Department of Chinese Literature.
