Hi Corey great work!!! I know that team works hard on mods and I have a bug, in description from the ground up it says about heroes "only hireable mechanic-based and reward heroes from government mechanics but I can't recruit them on republic side. Please fix this, I can't wait to have heroes!!! And i have a question will you and team make optimizations to mods because sometimes i have less than 7 fps during battles when there are a lot of fighters?

With the Republic choosing either Palpatine or the Jedi, would it be possible for the CIS to choose between Dooku and the Separatist Senate? I like siding with the Jedi, and would love to purge the dark side elements when playing as the CIS. Just a thought :) Thank you for creating such amazing mods! (Day 2)

I'm not sure what that would achieve in terms of gameplay mechanics, but I think that idea is pretty cool on a narrative sense. The separatist senate is kind of absent from the game, though it makes sense that it is I guess, we play as the droid army and they were in service of the corporations, not the more morally upstanding governments that wanted to secede from the Republic for legitimate reasons.

I...was...in high school when I remember Republic at War being in development...I am now years into my career after college...and this is amazing that this is still such a cherished part of star wars. I never really found the food and industrial part system very confusing but I also play alot of paradox grand strategy games so I might just be more used complex systems

It wasn't confusing at all. Literally all you had to do was build enough of these two buildings to keep two numbers above 0. Unfortunately, too many people found that too difficult for some reason.

I didn't have a problem with the system either, but I think the change makes sense, we were building new structures that provide new, abstract things, in a game that for the most part didn't have that sort of stuff originally (in vanilla). Now we build stuff that we would normally build in EaW to get similar results, it follows in the spirit of EaW more closely I suppose. It took me a minute to grasp the concept of how it works, but I think I got it now, they want us to fill out our planets with production structures some, instead of conquering dozens of planets and leaving them empty aside from some government buildings. As an aside, I like how the greater need for pop cap management required me to build some space stations on worlds I would have otherwise neglected so that I can put some colonies in space to up my pop cap. That's another neat little way in which they've used the stuff that is already in the game to create resource management.

You’re amazing Corey. I’m really enjoying 1.3 so far as the Republic. Especially with the QoL changes in the resources along with the refined command staff options. It’s still a bit hard in progressive at some points however it’s all part of the challenge. Thank you for making this superb EaW mod. I’m also Canadian btw so yeah 😂😂🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

thank you for reworking the food and parts system, i havent really ever messed around with the campaign mode in this game and really wanted to with this republic mod but it was a bit too complicated for me to get into between managing the resources, trying to find out what im actually supposed to be doing to unlock stuff, and all the hero stuff. Makes it way simplier for me to get stuck in now since i dont have to worry about as much at the same time. reduced starting troops is really nice too, lets me play around with fleet compositions without being stuck with what i have

So like I know this would be hard, it's been done before, but maybe like multiplayer on the progressive map in 1.5. Imagine you and 2 friends in a 3 way war. You would probably have to communicate with the makers of the 3 player gamemode.

Because that is close to 50 active heroes on the map at one time. Heroes would be close to outnumbering regular units in the galaxy, let alone every tactical battle being just a pile of heroes. If the command staff system weren't there, the alternative wouldn't be having 50 active heroes, it would just mean we don't make any of the extra ones in the first place.

@@CoreyLoses surely there could be a way to sideline specific heroes to get your preferred composition, maybe so if somebody wanted more clones on the field than Jedi they could do that, I rarely use heroes like Mace if I’m being real and would rather use a clone, but I understand what your reasoning for it is

tried the mod a little, I did the temurra Morrison mod and the 1.3 mod combo. I picked the option where the credits have been increased high and tier 5. I can play standard Clone Commandos, with delta squad. I'm loving this update so far.

this is an interesting idea, what if you have an easier alternate mode of FTGU where you get to pick the planet you start at, as long as the ship yard is level 2 or under so you cant have the option to make capital ships right off the bat

Haven’t played since December last year! Looking forward to sinking another 40-50 hours into one campaign. Thank you all very much for the hard work, and raw dedication to your mods. Side note, how difficult is it to add Wookies to be recruitable from Kashyyk? Perhaps a hard cap on how many can be maintained at a time, 10-20. Purely for flavor, and perhaps adding them for republic in Thrawns revenge as well. Similar to Zanns Consortiom in vanilla as that faction could field Wookies and Gungans etc.

So far, the Mod has been amazing. My only criticism is with the removal of the Agri-port and Factory it feels like I have empty useless planets just sitting around. While I don't mind the more streamlined single resource it becomes irrelevant after five minutes of playing.

AI Fleet compositions for me seem to include stacking 30+ light carriers, each with one squad of fighters, on top of a Lucrehulk and several Providence and Bulwark cruisers. Only way for me to not lose immediately is to post a hyper velocity gun on every world and stack fleets with Arquitens and CR70s to outrun enemy ships while I pick them off one at a time. Most of the time I don’t even bother rebuilding destroyed ststions since no matter what I post there they end up destroyed by mass bomber attacks.

I don't think food or industrial parts were ever difficult in and of themselves, it is that the UI wasn't designed for all these extra's which obfuscates things at first glace. Not a criticism of your work as you've done a wonderful job on the mod, just a commentary on the limitations of the base game.

i liked it more but after playing the beta the new system isnt bad at all and also the ai can now use it since before they didnt have to worry about those eco systems

The purpose of food and parts was to slow down blitzing. The problem is you could still just conquer lots of planets and leave them completely empty so you risk nothing. The new system is much better at affecting it in my opinion.

sw lore is a mess dont let anyone tell you its a new canon thing theres like 2 dates for isd implementation, the venator has been both late CW, begining and shortly after depending on sources, hell and i may be wrong the victory SD in like old old eu sources is said to be pre CW from before george even did the prequels. so yeah there is a limited use of ISDs in the mod

Scale of the ships involved, mostly. Other reasons too, but that’s the big one. The largest ship in FotR - the Mandator II, isn’t even the biggest Mandator in TR.

Is it possible to have the Hutts as something of a sleeping giant? I'm a big fan of the strength of the Hutts as shown in the Devouring and in SWTOR, but I do feel that implementing mass nukes, siege droids, and hutt mechs could make them absolutely broken (as a fully awakened Hutt force should be).

thats kinda the thing in the legends lore like they have cartel mob fat bussiness but they have been around since before the republic so they *can* rearm themselves as a galactic power they arent like the black sun or similar crime syndicates using old tech and mercenaries they are a legit government that has some criminal stuff for chill periods and then have battle cruisers bigger than imperial star destroyers not like cis or rep strength but big enough to avoid fighting if they re arm themselves but thats for .4 so its nowherre enar done

I'm confused about some aspects of the update. First, are the scripted missions with cutscenes only available in the historic campaigns, or can they be done in the progressive campaigns as well? Secondly for the command staff, what determines the availability for hiring staff members? Starting in the first era, I believe I only had the option to unlock three systems generals and three captains/admirals, or something like that, but no more Jedi or clones. What determines what staff options are available, or do I need to fire existing characters in order to see what others can be unlocked? What is the maximum number of hired staff members for each slot at once? For example I currently only have Fordo and Delta Squad for special forces, would I need to dismiss Delta Squad in order to recruit Alpha-17?

Yes, scripted missons are currently only in the historic GCs. For the command staff, the government menu (Senate icon on the lower left side of the screen) will show you who's activer and how many slots you have available for each type. Yes, to recruit a new one in a section that's got no open slots, you need to dismiss an existing hero.

@@RevanX77 Some options lock and are unavailable if you start in later eras, or choose to support Palpatine with Order 66. And of course, the many Venator heroes only unlock when you do the research to unlock Venators.

So I'm having an issue. Due to upkeep on the ships I start with in the CIS, I'm only getting half of my projected income. Meaning I can't respond to expansion, or rebuild lost ships or build up planets.

FTGU has issues with the hero recruit mechanic, the icons to select hero types just vanish completely when clicked.

wolverine regeneration on heros still seems a bit much to give … It just make infantry useless, i just want to be able to make a big army off droids and see how many it takes to take down a jedi but I can't because they heal off the damages for god who knows what reason.

Because that's the one thing Jedi are actually good at, they kill infantry. Send them against just vehicles and they basically collapse. EaW has very limited reasons for making melee heroes viable, so keeping them specialized like that is what we decided works best.

@@CoreyLoses I know they need to be good at it, but do they need to be God-like at it?! it feels like hack, i just can't understand why you can't see that it's dum that they can heal off the attacks off infantry, the reg might be fine but i still find it dum... (1000 droids shoot one guy and he heals from it) they should just have short Anakin on mustafar after the Obi-wan battle and he would have heal up.

What alternative do you suggest? If they don't have that, then they have to have massive stat balls added onto them making them incredibly tanky against everything else. There's not a way to cap the number of shots it works against in a given period, or we'd do that, but we have to work with what the game has.

@@CoreyLoses I suggest that they don't heal from infantry attacks, but you can keep the reg on their hp. if possible then you can also increase the numbers of lasers they can block / deflect from infantry. (just try not to give them too much reg >.< ) but thanks for listening.

We do have many missions from sources like that, and there will continue to be more as we go. There's actually a pretty even split between TCW and other sources.

Hi Corey, don’t know if you’ve thought of this or just aren’t interested in this but since torpedoes and missiles don’t penetrate shields it would be interesting if ships, particularly starfighters with ion weapons, such as Y-wings would automatically use their ion weapons to bring down the shields and then use torpedoes/missiles to attack the hull.

Several bombers do have ion cannons which contribute to their damage against shields.

@@CoreyLoses I guess what I mean is like how say y-wings have the ability to toggle ion weapons, what if it was like automatic where the y-wings detect that shields are up on a ship and use their ion weapons first then when the shields are down detect that and change back to regular weaponry. Idk if that possible in the code or just not interesting to you but personally I feel like that would be cool.

Also this update made ion guns do damage to fighters Not sure for fill ions but both y wings and the providence side ions *point defense ions* do and for example that makes y wings really able to defend itself when chased down I think the y wings do ok ish with ions it's just not notiseble without flashy effects. Not like they need it 2 squads nuke every ship bulwark one and lower in one or two passes . 5-6 one tap stuff like bulwark twos and providence dreadnaughts

How many clone commanders can u have?, currently it’s only allowing me to have 3 but ngl that can’t be right as there’s 5 Jedi generals so shouldn’t there be 5 clone commanders too? If it’s only 3 max clone commanders maybe could there be more? They’re all so awesome and not being able to use them is somewhat irritating , thankyou so much for the mod other than that small personal issue with it it’s absolutely amazing !

You can use everyone just not at the same time Jedi are 3 spots Anakin and obi wan are outside the system so that's why you can have five of them Clones are also in like two categories i think special forces and clone commanders

As they’re armour is so awesome and I do hope it’s added, and if so do ki adi mundi’s troops have special armour too? As of course they did in the clone wars?, I don’t wanna sound annoying I just can’t wait to play and this is an amazing and awesome sounding update, thankyou so much!

Hey nice job Corey and team! I have been a long time fan of the work you all have been doing on these Mods for EAW but something I have been wondering for awhile is why does it not let two players (or more) play a game of galactic conquest while using Thrawns Revenge or Fall of the Republic? Is there a reason that it is not available?

Why can I not play multiplayer Galactic Conquest? Unfortunately Multiplayer GC has a lot of issues in EaW. For one, it's unstable and doesn't like cooperating with saves. For another, it doesn't allow the use of most of the things we do with in-depth story scripting or a large section of LUA scripting (and a lot of what you can do with scripting would further contribute to desyncs). This means almost every feature of both mods doesn't work, from stuff as complicated to boarding and the government/influence mechanics, to stuff as simple as build bar filters and the basics of the era system. We will hopefully do a stripped-down version for multiplayer campaign as a submod in the future.

Does the Republic get mandalorian stuff if Mandalore is taken? There were some mandalorian mercenaries who did stuff for the Republic so it would make sense :)

Mandalore has several influence units for any faction that controls it, though the Mandalore hero system/choice is solely CIS

I like that hahaha. Honestly? He could be useful as a basic galactic stealth hero you could use for scouting planets; no combat application whatsoever, of course. He could even be a mission reward!
