2 Empire Great Cannons easily take out large models like Soulgrinders etc. very quickly (anything with around 6-7 wounds), BUT the meta defining Dragons which everyone complains about are still very resilient and rarely go down.

They need to change it so that ward save items either :-only on foot or horseback or whatever. or: ward save items don't apply to monsters and behemoths. Same for armor honestly. It 1- doesn't make sense for a suit of armor to impact a huge model and 2-it makes items impossible to balance in the future. Take for example the reroll wounds armor of TK. It's too strong and so incredibly boring.

@@ThePaintedHope Best solution I think is to have all shots be directed at the dragon, dragon doesn't get any rider special rules. Any swings in combat get directed against the dragon, challenges go against the rider instead. If the dragon dies the whole model dies, if the rider dies the dragon autoloses combat but becomes frenzied, gives ground, is removed from play if it ever loses combat again (the cowardly monster flees the battlefield without its rider to inspire it).

The fact is artillery runes that dwarves have cost a lot and do litte to increase the efficency of the warmachine they are applied to. Best you can do is reroll a failed artilery dice or get a BS3 bolt thrower to S7, which is good but not really comparable to having a S10 AP4 D1d3+1 cannon. Also... the Master Rune of immolation is written in a way that requires your opponent to be a complete moron to work).

Agree bombard is amazing, i've never found the range to be a problem. Especially as you are aiming 10 inches short also. One thing really is you are sort of paying a big price to take the bombard (no blessing) so if that should factor in im not sure

I would say all cannons are A tier, cause as long as you don't roll a misfire their a really high chance to hit the target. Then you can send a few point to greatly reduce misfires happening. Organ gun is overrated imo as you can just take irondrakes that can stand and shot, fight in combat and *never misfire*. Also for empire engineer your better off re rolling and helblaster misfire as a single miss fire give -1 to hit which a counter out the +1 to hit. While you could roll another misfire it unlikely and as your more likely to get more shoots. I think stock bolt throws are better then rune of skewering as your biggest issue is hitting. Also mid game they may be in short range and bolt throwers never misfire. Casket of souls got to be A tier as you can wipe out a Monster, Monster cavalry unit, Monstrous infantry unit or Cavalry unit in 1 shot. Then light of protection which is an amazing spell.

@@MalignMusings well something you rarely consider is where the unit (you do sometimes I think you did for Glade Riders vs Bretonnian Yoemen) is where the unit sits within the list, Great Cannons and Dwarf cannons are special choices which means its far easier to take multiple of them without eating into your quite limited rare points, so I think its still the empire cannon (I have not yet finished the video yet lol, hoping you have good opinions on caskets :P) What I meant about the title is that if you had called it ranking warmachines I would have clicked it without thinking!

I think you are way off on the casket of souls, it is easily S tier. By your definition of S tier is can the war machine change a game and the casket does that very easily, if the enemy fails a leadership test on a key piece of their army (with some help most likely) and that can really ruin their plans, its very effective at killing monsters and multiwound units like dragon ogres (and without too much good rolling can kill an entire unit in one shot) or units of heavy cavalry (killing entire units in one go is the norm when they fail the leadership test), the light of protection is also very good with a long range and can be stacked meaning most of your army is -2 to hit which can be a real problem for opponents to deal with. Because of its synergies with the casket and its powerful leadership debuff I would also move the screaming skull up to A as its clearly the best stone thrower in the game (not a lofty title but a title nonetheless).

You're probably right about the casket, it does have a lot of utility, and if you've got a way of incentivising the foe to come to you then they'll have to deal with it. Best stone thrower is definitely the doom diver, but I agree the screaming skull is pretty ace.

@@MalignMusings Not only is the Casket a reason your opponent has to come to you with its 36" range but it synergies well with screaming skulls as well as TK have access to Ushabti with great bows! Your reasoning for the trebuchet and doom diver is the same, they do damage, one is stronger and one is more accurate sure, but as you say in the video the screaming skull is doing something meaningful even if it misses, when it hits a target that is just a bonus, it also makes it more appealing to indirect fire. The actual damage of the doom diver is the same as the screaming skull (not to mention that the screaming skull is tougher and healable). Stone thrower damage is generally pretty bad because of its small template, weak strength, partial hits and large bases so its not very appealing to take them if that is their only aspect. This is all baring the fact while watching your meta round ups Screaming Skull Catapults have been included in numerous successful TK lists but we never really see Doom Divers (and never Trebuchets) Thanks for all the vids recently, will watch the infantry one soon and probably comment more thoughts (for the algorithm :P)

In terms of what's at tournaments you've always got to consider model availability. It took me about two months to get two screaming skulls, and now with doom divers they have the same availability issues. That said, the jury is out on the doom divers. To me, it's the ability to move the centre of the tempate which makes it so good.

He really spent no time on it. I believe it has 360⁰ field of fire because it's actually a heavy chariot. It's really decent at bringing down monsters and can handle any infantry unit in melee combat with impact hits, a decent melee profile, and stomp attacks. It's a strong answer to basically anything the enemy can throw at you and I would recommend two in every daemon army

I played against a hell cannon the other day. Turn 1 failed the leadership test and he rolled a 1 blew up half his army lol. It'd be cool to see a video going over tactics of how to get charges in your favor, i.e how to position so that you are the one charging

Does the Brett bombard have grapeshot? If not, it's in trouble if anything gets close. Hellblaster has to be the most feared war machine.

All Cannon's can fire grapeshot as far as I'm aware...

Nah it doesn't get grapeshot, same as most special cannons it has its own weapon profile which "shoots like a cannon, using the ‘Cannon Fire’ special rule." Grapeshot is a separate special rule which applies to Cannon war machines.

@@MalignMusings Its not part of the Cannon Fire rules, its boxed out in a separate section, same as the repeater bolt throwers "Rapid Fire" rule isn't part of the "Through and Through" special rule, but a separate rule boxed out (or wizards and armour not being a sub-rule of barding, or any of the other box out rules in the rulebook). Only "cannon crew can opt to fire grapeshot," and if your weapon allows you to shoot "like a cannon, using the ‘Cannon Fire’ special rule" you also couldn't fire grapeshot as grapeshot doesn't use the "Cannon FIre" special rule.
