So this is the video of my first grilse of the season, always a very happy moment. I'd had one quick evening hour dusting off the 8wt trying for a summer salmon prior to this quick trip. It was my usual Friday Dad's Taxi trip so by the time I got there I probably had about 45 mins to fish one pool. I did go to another river en-route but it was too low to fish, in a way I am glad it was! The wind was absolutely horrendous and I was losing my cool with it at times! It was practically blowing me over but as time is precious where fishing is concerned, I was always going to go regardless. I'm sorry about the wind noise and getting my arms in the way during the fight, but really it was just damage limitation and I wanted the fish in and then released the best I could and as quickly as I could. I was told that the fish has red skin disease by the River's Trust biologist and they passed on the pictures to Fisheries Management Scotland.
As always, I hope you enjoy the video and thank you to all the subscribers and all the people that like and take time to comment on the videos, it really is much appreciated.
