I used to work for an engineering firm where some of our biggest clients were land developers. Not all of them were bad but some of the developers were always trying to maximize the number of units/profit they could get out of a parcel of land. One of the worst was a parcel of land that started out with 48 units of 3-4 bedroom homes over looking the Pacific. The preliminary plans had nice bikeways, parkways, trails and landscaping. By the time it was finished the number of units had increased to 70 units. Gone were the bikeways, parkways, trails and landscaping. The homes were sandwiched together on zero lot lines with 5' side access on one side and 5'-10' backyard and literally stacked overlooking the down slope neighbor. These were not nightly rentals but single family residences. I never thought they would sell them but they did, at the time 30 years ago, they started at $450k and went up from there. To each their own, I myself would never want to live in such a densely populated neighborhood. I don't know how it works out there, but I hope the city adopts some requirements about the size of the units, proximity to one another and the amount of landscaping that must be retained, before it ends up looking like New York city.

SUPER job, Carrie! My opinion on all this construction around Table Rock is: Any time one finds a place of natural beauty, the RE developers seem to be the first to want to build as they see all the 'resulting dollars' stuffing their pockets. Prime example of this is the Lake of the Ozarks area. Developed a few decades before the dam in Branson was on the drawing board, the building of the dam creating that lake and it's resulting overdevelopment and problems of lack of oversite on the Corps part, proves my point today. It appears to me as the developers now bulldozing a great deal of the hills surrounding Table Rock will a few decades from now look and appear as another Lake of the Ozarks. The only difference today is the Corp of Engineers is in constant oversite of the shoreline with its activities and development with little to none dozing of the beautiful mountainsides! Once again, Thank you for your short tubes on the Branson area. I will be contacting you when the time is right, hopefully next year, when I will leave the state of 'tax hell' here in Wisconsin, to move to the Branson or surrounding area...........

Yes the Corp of Engineers has saved the lake from over developing, thats what makes TRL different from Lake of the Ozarks. I hear taxes are higher all around up north. A lot of folks consider MO just for that reason. The cost of living is so much better here. Thanks for watching and looking forward to helping you!

I was wondering about this. I’ll be moving in 2 weeks, short notice and I will be staying at my dad’s until I can find my own place. I’ve been searching for a rental.. I don’t need a nightly rental but that’s what I keep seeing.

Hi Clarisa, it's hard to find a house to rent and sometimes you'll need to get on a waiting list with a rental manager. If you could email me at carrie@bransonhouse.com I can send you a list of rental managers that can help you.

Hi Carrie, I am trying to locate/ meet people from the Branson/ Table Rock lake area to get more info on before moving 1200 miles!. I plan on contacting the chamber of commerce, a cpa and I have previously spoken with an attorney in the area. I would be looking to start a business when I get there.

@@LivinginBranson your videos are very nice, I enjoy your drives and being able to see the area. I see there are no contractor licensing requirements in MO. but was wondering if there was a demand for rental maintenance and repair. As I was a contractor for many years and would be probably the easiest transition for me.

Hi Adrian 👋 thanks for watching. I think there is plenty of work for any skilled handyman. All of the ones I know are busy and it's hard to find workers that are available. we have lots of condos that are rentals that always need maintenance or remodel.
