This man is one of my all time REAL Country Music HEROES. His songwriting material, the real stories, his fabulous guitar playing and voice are what Real Country music is all about. His old pals, many who are no longer here, Waylon, Johnny and so, so many more are a testament to why REAL Country music is still alive and bringing so much pleasure and joy to the fans, of which I am one. I first got into Real Country music aged 11 (now into my 77th year), I took up learning to play the guitar aged 12 and have played and sang REAL country music ever since. I was fortunate enough to visit Nashville for my 60th birthday (a treat from my wife) the experience was a dream come true, we also enjoyed a night at the Grand Ole Opry (oh how I wish I could have been on that stage)! Fabulous time enjoyed and a lifetime ambition accomplished. Thank you Nashville.🙏🙏 REAL Country music has been and still is part of my life, all thanks to Kris, Waylon,Johnny, Willie, Hank Locklin, Dolly Parton, the list is ENDLESS. 🎸🎤❤️ WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL People, THANK YOU ALL for a lifetime of REAL Country Music enjoyment. Special thanks for putting this out, I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to many more videos🙏🙏 Paul 🇬🇧❤️❤️

Saw Kris in concert, solo acoustic, in a fairly small venue in 2010. I was a bit worried about him then. He put on a decent show, but seemed to lack energy. He forgot a lot of lyrics, but he just laughed it off and we laughed with him. After the show many artists would come to the lobby, talk to fans, sign autographs, sell merch. I was so disappointed when the MC announced that Kris "forgot" to bring merch and would not be meeting fans afterward. It's great to know that he's doing well. His songs will always have a special place in my heart. Wishing him the very best. ❤

It breaks my heart to say this, but it was pretty clear at Willie's party, he's not doing really well mentally, either now. I've watched both his performances there multiple times, because I always have been and always will be a huge Kris fan! In both he's about a half of beat behind the ladies, taking their cue, I think on the lyrics. And I think there's just one time he goes forward on his own for a line or two. I last saw him in concert, maybe a year before he retired the second time. He put on a great performance, but was even then battling memory issues, again. And stopped one song midway through, by singing, "and that's all I remember." Don't remember what song, but I know it was one of his old classics. But I'll always love him and consider him, one of, if not the most talented singer/songwriters of my life!

There's no shame in using teleprompter s to recall all ones lyrics ... I noticed Lenard Cohen and Axl Rose have them on stage ..
@charlotte50224
3 ай бұрын
@Doug-nr3gh Well, I guess there'd be no shame in it. But I've never seen any sign of a teleprompter at Country music concerts. And I saw no sign of one in the replays of Willie's Bday party, in any of the videos or on TV. Since I wasn't there, I can't say for sure if they had them or not. But he definitely didn't have one the last time I saw Kris in concert. And at Willie's party it appeared Kris was watching each of the two ladies he sang with there, and following their cues. I'm honestly not sure how clear his vision is any more. Because both times he performed they literally led him on stage, and off again. So not sure if he could even see a teleprompter. But I agree most muscians sing so many songs, you'd think they would use one. Although, in his prime Kris was so brilliant and I guess because he wrote almost every song he sang, I think he did do them from memory. He definitely is one of the most brilliant composers in my lifetime, and I'm 74!

rock music came from country, blues, jazz, pop, country abandoned rock music a long time ago, Kris was a part of the cross over performers, Willy, Cash, Parton, a few that liked all music, rock had a back beat that pure country couldn't abide, won't go into the racist things they claimed, except in the 60s the Birds were booed off the Oprys stage we embraced them though rock encompasses most genera's it has country rock glitter rock jazz style rock because it was born out of them all, Kris was a cross over we all loved his music he will be missed RIP
