on a more serious note, when dealing with electrical gremilins start with cleaning all the grounds. It rains a bit over on your side of the pond so make sure all those electrical connections are clean and lubed

Swap coils from one cylinder to the other. If the misfire follows the swap then you found your problem.

If it's dropping a cylinder when warmed up that usually points to ignition coil fail. When a coil starts to fail it usually does it when the engine is up to temperature, Then fails completely. Its pretty easy to test a coil with a multimeter you just need to know the resistance from a good workshop manual. Hope you solve the issue soon and make the most of riding in this nice weather we have at the moment!

Check the coil/sparkplug and specifically the electric plug on the coil. Sometimes the pin can break or displace when you plug in. Also check the compression ( always good to know the Health of your engine ) Let me know if you need a coil/sparkplug, i got some in spare.

My Nuda has the same problem. Changed TPS, idle actuator, spark plugs, coils, oxygen sensor, temperature sensor, recalibrated tps and idle actuator and still misfires. Brought it to BMW they don’t know what it is, worked with 3 other shops, one shop I’ve showed them your videos, couldn’t even find a break in the hoses. Really looking forward to you finding the problem. I’m at a loss. Only think I havent replaced is the fuel pump

Normally I would blame the stick coil. However the pro’s scanner should have detected that, easy peasy. Now look for clogged injector or clogged idle air bypass in throttle body.

If you have made any modifications to the electronics you must remove them, check the wiring and connection points and return it to stock. See if the problem still persists at this baseline. Or you'll be running in circles.

Hi I thing you should take off K&N air filter, you have too much air . Put the right paper filter. K&N filter is good for carbs. Best regards

After watching your testing and reading through the comments there are two areas I would inspect when you take it all apart again: 1. definitely check the coils for both sides and make sure they are in spec. I always take the easy way and just remove the plug caps and plugs then test for a bright spark when trying to start the engine. If no spark then test each coil for proper specs. 2. check your valve adjustment on the left cylinder again. If you are getting a little temp rise there, but only when you rev really hard, it may indicate that your exhaust valve is a little tight and is not opening fully. I think you adjusted the valves a few weeks back so something may have shifted. Best of luck in getting it sorted :-)

Like another said, check your ground wire and your electrical plugs. Could also be a bad injector, you could easily test by swapping around injectors and see if problem changes sides or goes away. Do you have an after market fuel controller? Could also be in the spark plug cap, that is where the coil is and check plug wires and connectors

@@TwoWheelsAndAPonytail you have check all the fuel lines, the sparks and the air intake so if you made a compression test you wil saw if you have a problem on valve, head gasket or segmentation. if you have a difference between the cylinder you are in the right way if it's not i don't konw... i can't help you more. I'll check the ignition coils first... It's makes that kind of problems when they are almost dead. Swap the left one for the right one and you will see ! If the problem swap to, then you find what sucks ! ;) Good luck !!

Yeh that's def an ignition coil. My Transali SUPAR MOTARD did that too and one of the CDI boxes was broken.

The reason why it is popping in the exhaust pipe is unburnt fuel so all the fuel is not burning is the cylinders. That is a wrong air to fuel ratio. Perhaps the injector is faulty or a ECU remap would fix the problem, it is unlikely that something is blocking the air flow but sometimes worth taking a look at. The copper color indicates that the engine is running to cold or to rich according to to a chart (mechanics.stackexchange.com/questions/25794/follow-up-question-on-spark-plug-heat-range).

I know it wasn’t the issue, but you shouldn’t use copper grease on spark plugs. It’s unnecessary and increases clamping force, and throws out the torque settings. You certainly don’t want to get it on the electrodes.

Misschien effe checken of de bougie uberhaupt vonkt. Als de bougie niet vonkt met een nieuwe bougie kan misschien in de richting zoeken van je ontsteking / vliegwiel. Als dat niet het geval is en hij vonkt gewoon, krijgt je cilinder misschien geen / niet genoeg zuurstof of benzine (klep vast misschien?). Just thinking out loud here.

Sounds like a ignition coil could be going bad. Do you have a multimeter to test each one? Check the owner's manual and see (if it is listed) what the specs are and test the right side then test the left. Keep us posted please and by the way how does the BMW handle now since you had the suspension adjusted? :)

If I should give a remote diagnosis I would say it is a - unfortunately well known problem of the Nuda - with the fuel pump which leads from time to time to problems in warm engine condition caused by the today's unfortunately usual fuel qualities which aren't stable due to the high bio fuel content (see carburattors after a long period of time or not beeing used) and so the impeller expands because of the heat and if there is dirt in the pump the distances are not sufficient anymore so that there are temporary problems with the fuel supply . Therefore I would test the following: - SPI from the left cylinder if it is fully or partially jammed - Fuel filter in the fuel pump - Fuel pump itself

Bougiedop eraf, bougie insteken, schacht contact laten maken met de kop en startknop indrukken. Moet mooi blauw vonkje zijn. Doet de linker helemaal niks? Of af en toe? Of onder belasting niks? (Want ontsteking kan ook nog falen onder compressie/belasting, dan heb je aan bovenstaande check nog weer niks)

I would do a compression test. It was running with an air leak for a while, may have burned an exhaust valve. (Hope I’m wrong)!

Oh man I’m so sorry to see your having problems with your Nuda and wish I could help. Fuel filter ? Fuel lines restricted ? Sounds like it might be a fuel delivery issue but that’s just uneducated guess.

Zeker met de hoge druk gewassen? Dan komt dat probleem ook bij mij een cillinder die het dan niet meer doet zeer irritant. Ik weet niet of je een qwickshiffter er ophef zitten wand dan is het belangrijk omdat jij maar twee cilinders het om die twee stekkertjes die over zijn goed af te plakken anders gaat de module een storing geven die niet te traceren is. Dat was het probleem bij mij. Anders even alle stekkers loshalen vanaf de bougie en alles inspuiten met vochtwerende spray een cilinder valt niet zomaar uit tenzij er vocht of een kabelbreuk is.

In a previous video, when you showed the perished rubber pipe, what I thought you were showing was a missing screw in the side of the left-hand carb. When you fixed the pipe I assumed that the empty thread that I saw was actually just a deep threaded hole with an adjuster or similar deep down inside it. i don't want to be rude but youtube is not the most effective way to find a solution for your problems. the reason for a constant missfire isn't hard to find for a mechanic if he/she is knowing what to check. I would start with the basics. if a cilinder is not firing try to track down the source. for example: spark insufficient, no fuel to be ignited or just bad compression. than you can narrow down your search area.

i can tell you love your bike. you call it a "he", like i call mine a "she". my vehicles have always been females in my mind. that infra-red thermometer is a handy thing, i just lick my finger and quickly tap each exhaust tube to see if they are all hot to find the dead one.
