To be perfectly objective, a body lift and tires would be the best lift you could do to preserve suspension geometry. Also, a body lift has a better center of gravity than a full lift. I think you did the best anyone could do.

I have a ‘87 YJ that I bought with a rough country 4 /2” lift with a 1 3/4” body lift and 35” tires. I’m in the process of re-gearing it because the spider gears in the rear broke just by daily driving… 35” tires are heavy with the stock 3.07 gears. Going to 4.56 gears and will probably drop to 33” tires

You can replace yj flares with tj flares. Allows for trimming inner fenders 2 inches up and forward and back. Opens wheel wells a lot. Body lifts don't do a thing to lift frame, can cause break over issues. 3 and 1 half inch springs with 2 inch longer shackles will give you 4 and a half inches lift without body lift. Lot of differant ways to achieve usable lift. Do you have disconnects for sway bar? Nice jeep with this set up. Only way to find out is to use it. Have fun and be safe.

as much as I love the look of your jeep and as you have mentioned that you do not have 100% knowledge about what's been done to the jeep previously so let me tell you. The inside part from the front fender to the curve of the headlight has been cut and that's the reason you get a lock to lock steering no tension. I personally run 6-inch body lift and 4-inch spacers on my 35-inch tires and still am not able to get the turn angle properly. If anyone has suggestions let me know I do not wanna cut out a piece of the frame.

I don’t care about articulation. Why would I take a 25k jeep somewhere where I’d need maximum articulation? Everyone knows these things are lifted for looks. A smarter man would just get a talon or a razor and have twice the fun Offroad while keeping his DD running strong and not pissing away money on broken parts. Plus SXS and quads are funner Offroad. And if I really were to take a road car/truck Offroad it wouldn’t be a piece of shit bathtub on wheels, I’d use a real off-roader like a 4Runner or variant.
