@@frankcaggiano8282 Wrong - they didn't give her any opportunities to put pants on, they just kept insisting that she puts pants on while they illegally hold the door open because they don't believe the law pertains to them and their actions. By refusing the let the door close and holding it open (which has been said time and time again in several court cases is against the law to do so when they have no warrant or any legal obligation to be doing such) they're refusing her the opportunity to put on any pants. They wanted to make her as pissed off as possible because they wanted to make a false arrest in hopes that they get a bonus. They knew from the start they'd never get in trouble for this, their own higher ups are defending them despite the fact that they entered into a room without permission and arrested someone illegally while making up fake charges to arrest her for. So, in reality she had no opportunity to put on pants because I'm sure the moment she would try they would have entered to arrest her stating she was "reaching for a weapon".

It's always okay to call the police department and ask if they sent someone to your home/dwelling to verify the people outside are legitimate. As long as you sincerely feel endangered or suspicious that it's not a legitimate officer outside, it is a reasonable call. This can show that you are willing to cooperate with police, you are just verifying your safety. The operator on the line with you should be sending communication to officers on site that you are on the phone and not proceed with trying to gain entry util it is sorted out.

@@vault1549 Are you sure? What are the laws about this in Utah? 🤔 Years ago I was on a jury in Virginia with a very similar case, where the cops fórced their way into a random woman's home and arrested her. They were in pursuit of a robbéry suspect and some rando said they saw him go into that house. The woman was so confused as she had nothing to do with it, it was just her and her young child. The police were still trying to charge her with multiple things even though it was confirmed she had nothing to do with the person they were pursuing and the "tip" was incorrect. The judge was not happy to say the least, he ended up dismissing the case with prejudíce. He said a tip with nothing backing it up and the cops not witnessing or hearing anything that would indicate immediate danger means they had no justification for what they did, and the judge said they could (and should) have gotten a warrant that same afternoon. He also warned the cops not to behave like that again. I wonder are the laws really that different in Utah?

Garunteed, as soon as she wins her lawsuit, these crooks will be on "administrative leave", "paid suspension", or resigned from that precint, and the Internal Affairs will drop the matter since its no longer their direct problem. A lot of bad cops have bounced from precint to precint, they'll retire from one before the investigation is complete so nothing gets filed on their record, then jump to the next county over and get hired there like they did nothing wrong.
