The base Indian Challenger already has all of what this bike has except for the hill assist. Heck, Harley even integrated the turn signals into the front fairing. Harley is just doing their best to catch up to what's already out there but for $10,000 more. The Indian Challenger is the best thing that ever happened to Harley. Now Harley has to start stepping up to give their customers more modern bikes so they don't lose any more sales to Indian. This feud is finally going to get to the point where both customer bases enjoy the benefit of better bikes year after year.

@@throdown117 Harley Davidson with their slick marketing are seemingly under the impression that if you market the bike as being All American it somehow justifies jacking up the price on everything from a cheaply made sticker to the the engine. Once a Harley is sold they are banking on the buyer adding everything under the sun so they get you coming and they get you going, if you get where I'm coming from. All American in their mind means charge the customer whatever you want because of your patriotism. I swear that probably works really well when you are an American and while I salute American patriotism I am a Canadian that may not have that same enthusiasm just because of where the bike is made. My take on patriotism is that if you have to constantly be telling and charging a premium for that patriotism maybe it's just not worth it in the long run. I don't mean to offend American sensibilities in terms of supporting the country that you love and live in as being patriotic can be a very good thing but at what cost one should be asking themselves. My apologies if my post sounds too political as I am only trying top point out how a motorcycle manufacturer goes about their business.

Its been on road bikes since the 80's but mostly small displacement 4-pots back then. The idea was that an engine cammed up for (by the standards of the day) massively high rpm could still start, tickover and run properly at lower rpm. It faded out as better knowledge of fueling, ignition and flow dynamics came along but its been coming back over tyhe past 10 years or so thanks to emissions of all things. The system on the VFR was more unique because that was there for the same reason as the car versions - and worked in a similar way. More economy and more power - though how much difference it actually makes is anyones guess. I would love to lock one on vtec and do a before/after run to see what the differences are.

They figured out that its cheaper to buy in boutique parts for the headlines than design them in house. Remember these days everything needs to be homologated for different regions and if you have a certain set of forks, brakes and so on which already are up to a weight/whatever that cuts your development and costs by a lot. Basically they're doing it because its overall cheaper but the parts are still better so I'm good with that. 115hp in 800lb though? Thats a similar power to weight as a gsxr750 from the 90's. @@badasstrucker79My builder is telling me to hold off on the new gen CVO due to several techical issues, which I guess is to be expected. So I'll wait a year or so for them to work the bugs out, then grab one. Also, be sure to check out the new 6x9's from Rockford as they sound AS good if not better for the new CVOs than their 10" drop-in subwoofers for the pre-2023 models.

Doesn't have reverse for a 1100 pound bike and rider combined weight. No back rest to prevent the passenger from slipping off. In 10 or 15 K-miles the cam chain tensioner will have you wondering if or when the engine will destroy itself.

No mention of how a lot of that NEW TECH has been standard on Indian models for years......eg inverted shocks, adjustable rear suspension, multiple ride modes.......Indian was the greatest thing to happen for a Harley Davidson fan!

Damn Sean I've been a subscriber for a couple months and I watch all your videos and I even bought my Vulcan s based on your approval for the bike but I now have a bad ass bike that you have never test rode and it disappoints me that you never did a comparison of the M109R against my amazing bike The biggest baddest man bike you can own the C109RT. You had one once but only did a Caleb walk around video. I rode an M109R to compare and I truly feel the C109RT is faster and is actually the pinnacle of road king comparable bikes. I took the goofy windshield and bags off and it is a true power cruiser worthy of a video from you.

How does it compare to a K1600B...more bells and whistles, faster, lighter, more power, windshield goes up and down, suspension button, throttle button, etc. etc. oh and much less money, like $20K...

So for $20k more than my challenger dark horse, you get the same suspension and brakes, 8 fewer hp, more weight, and 10 ft/lbs more torque? Yep, I'm still feeling very satisfied with my switch from HD to the Indian Challenger. New road glide fairing even copied the challenger's looks lol - oh and even for $50k, you STILL don't get an adjustable windscreen that's standard on the challenger. How long can HD get away with selling less bike for more money? How long will the HD faithful remain faithful, knowing they're paying more for the brand name than the bike's capabilities? That gauge screen looks sick though - not gonna lie, that def puts Polaris' ride command system to shame (which really isn't hard lol).

So what would this bike do from 0 to 60?🤔 awesome video they did in amazing job explaining all of the details of this bike. Thank you.

Exactly. All that matters is performance on the pavement. People have been getting too caught up in engine size and HP/Torque numbers. For all of that extra $ the performance is less than 1 second difference. Probably 0-60 in 5 seconds instead of 4.5. And that’s if you are a professional drag racer. I remember someone telling me when I used to ride sport bikes and was thinking about cruisers that after he had been in an F-16 everything was slow. Now that’s a jump in performance! Even if the new bikes were 5 seconds faster it wouldn’t matter to me. Isn’t the overall riding experience what really matters? I like a reliable engine, reasonable fuel economy, and enough power to easily pass other vehicles and cruise on the highway. I could care less about the prick-waving people get into. Anyway, as with anything, at some point you reach diminishing returns…like now.

@@413prototype I agree for the most part but there comes a point where its not a trade off for top end vs torque or longevity or whatever and instead its just making a lazy engine because its cheaper to throw together. Its got vct because emissions regs pretty much forced them to do it. It makes 10hp less than a 1990's TL1000 and only 20 more than an RS660. Given that its almost twice the capacity of the TL (which wasn't known for being gutless, either) and more than three times the size of the RS its getting harder to justify the lack of peroformance. For me the big kicker is in their own range. The revmax throws out between 120hp and 150hp and thats only at 1250cc. Maybe you don't want that much power - fair enough and I can agree again. But. If they threw the revmax tech at an engine this size and set it up for similar power how much better do you think it would be? Certainly it would make a whole chunk more torque over a much wider spread. It would certainly use less fuel too. That extra efficiency doesn't need to mean more power - making better use of the energy in the fuel gives you a lot of options on what to improve. Now remember thats tech they have sitting there and comes in one of their cheapest bikes - the sportster s. Thats a $16,400 bike.

Every dealership I've visited over the last few months is "Loaded" with '23 CVO bikes. Seriously some have as many as a dozen new CVO's on the floor scattered among the rest of the bikes. Seems it might be a strategy to generate more revenue for the MOCO.

Oh no that is a pretty nice Harley first off kudos for the drawer in the faring. That’s pretty cool the hill hold that’s cool also. As for the Brembo brakes, Challenger and Pursuit, I’ve had those for quite a few years now and the rounded out saddlebags, that goes back to the 2011 victory, my 2013 Vic cross country, with 98,000 mi. is running 122 pound feet at the rear wheel on the stock engine with a few Lloydz parts attached. That being said, not bad for a factory machine attaboy Harley. Good vid , ride on and ride well. 🍻

What's so awesome about a 'manual' preload adjuster? Man, BMW, Triumph, Ducati were doing 'electronic' adjustments from the 'handlebars' 10 over years ago. Please, an honest review, we want to hear what you yourself are 'not' saying - manual preload (and rebound) is still in the last century! (on a bike that cost $70K in Australia). HD has been using Brembo brakes for years, just that they were branded HD, what you didn't say (again) is that on the CVO it's now a 'radial' set-up. Oh, yeah! Oh! you may have just forgot to mention, the Ride Modes don't appear [to me at least as there are none to test ride here], to also change the suspension to match (eg, on premium EU brands like the ones I mentioned above, when you change from say Normal to Sport Mode it also automatically stiffens the suspension to suit) - which to my mind is so so needed when you're approaching your favourate mountain road after coming off the highway. And last but not least, still no centre stand - because, of course, you need to spend time cleaning and polishing this sexy looking cruiser and a centre stand would be so convenient in this dept. I lied, wasn't the last thing, a reverse gear for the heavy weight beast could prove handy and would make an interesting talking point around the camp fire after a few bourbons and the BS starts to flow.

Only recently discovered your channel. Pretty good! One question tho, how tall are you? I'm 6'3" and it's hard to determine if bikes I've never seen in the flesh would be big enough or too small for me. Since you feature a bunch of interesting bikes, it would be nice to be able to get things in proportion.

Horsepower means nothing to a heavy bike. For instance when Cycle World tested Kawasaki H2 600+ pounder supercharged bike on a dyno, it only made 167hp, pulling a dismal 87 foot pounds of torque. Horsepower = Torque X RPM ÷ 5252, therefore if you simply whirl an eninge twice the RPM where oil flings off and creates wear, you double horsepower. Sure... but your bike is not actually pulling any harder, and when you have an 800lb machine that matters. Enter the 4.5 inch stroke that makes Harleys shake, and even if your engine is perfectly balanced the secondary forces from combustion is unavoidable with a 4 1/2 inch stroke. Think, long pedal posts on a bicycle, you pull harder yet shake more due to needing a longer stroke. Torque = H-D shake.

My 2022 HD Pan America has hill hold, is much faster and far more comfortable. So much easier to ride cross Country and can even hit the dirt trails. And with the large aluminum bags and trunk can carry much more as well. The PA has all the tech and then some.

I had my 2022 Pan America Special for a year and it was fully decked out. Great bike but it just didn't do it for me. I traded it even up for a 2018 Heritage 114 with less than 6k miles on it. They were both valued at $13,900 so yeah, the Pan America's just aren't holding their value in spite of being amazing machines. It's good to be back home :)

All of this was wasted on a bagger. It’s cool but it was just to make it as expensive as possible. You know what people wanted to see this in? The street bob, fat bob, and the low rider. All of these bikes people modified with inverted forks, other suspension upgrades, all kinds of engine upgrades, and other performance upgrades.

Question will the Harley stereo speakers for The Sattles bag on the road glide fit or slip into the new CVO bags in the rear? Just bought them in Sturgis rally for my 2020 road glide but now thinking about trading it in for new cvo? And not wanting that cost again. Thanks
