If the bunnies are bad in your neighborhood, go slow with your investment. No use buying a bunch of things and then have them all get eaten right away. Note: not all of the plants I recommended are pollinators. I forgot to add foamflower which is another great native plant for shade. And to clarify, Lisa dogwoods are not native but it was another tree right there in that small space😑. People often ask what I do to deter rabbits and while we have a lot of them on our property they don’t seem to eat all of our plants. I can’t explain this. As I mentioned, I do use cayenne pepper or garlic powder for my tulips and tulip bulbs.
Hearing from other people, there are a variety of approaches to try: cages or wire around plants (that’s a bummer but sometimes necessary especially for larger investments and as shrubs or trees are getting established); concoctions made from natural ingredients; organic products such as Rabbit Scram (includes dried blood, eggs, garlic, cloves and white pepper). Some people also report dogs and scary looking fake owls but I’m not sure those work. Or you can just give up and only plant things they won’t eat. It’s not as fun but less stress because you’re not always trying to work against nature.
