This is a video Dr. Karin made years ago, but still good advice for those who have a tick bite. Now that it is Spring, it is time to watch for ticks on your body and on your pets.
Most people know if they have a tick bite, to watch for a bullseye lesion or other symptoms of lyme disease.
Dr. Karin just had a patient loose her husband to a tick bite complication. He though he was just sick with the flu, but had ehrlichiosis.
Ehrlichiosis is a bacterial infection caused by a tick bite, and is treatable, but because of his delayed treatment, his heart failed from the stress on his system.
So if you have any fever after a tick bite, please see a medical professional and express your concerns of contracting a bacterial infection.
Wishing you wellness.
