What a great little town. Bill and I both grew up on Gun Smoke mostly because of grandfathers that watched it. We will definitely have to take that trolley tour. So much information. What a great stop.

I enjoyed your video showing and telling the history of Dodge City, this is far the best video. I’m from Garden and I was raised in Chanute Kansas. I have many family members throughout Kansas. My dad said mainly from Salina Kansas and the area and my mom side from Dodge City and many small towns around Doge City. I could share so many good time Dodge city like going to Boot Hill and watching reactants of gunfights and spending almost the whole day hanging out at Boot Hill, my Grandma at the time only lived a couple blocks from Boot Hill. I can’t wait until your next video sharing the history of Doge City. Like I said I have many family members from throughout Kansas, it would take me about an hour or so to share all small towns and sharing the best time of visiting Doge City 😅

Hello I grew up in dodge. I could tell you some stories also. The building they call a brewery used to be the police and fire station along with a traffic court. The street they now call gunsmoke used to be called walnut st. and wyatt earp blvd used to be called chestnut st. I remember when they pave the main road of chestnut through dodge. The cattle yard at certains times of the year used to stink up the town. It was a sad day when the city fathers decided to tear out the old original part of dodge which was called front street. They made a 4 lane highway through there. Those were the original buildings. I still remember one of the old buildings had carved in the stone" first baknk of dodge city 1890"
