Alhamdulillaah. About a year ago, a MAS imam said he's too scared to talk openly about the LGTV problem. Now imams are turning the tide within the community. May Allaah subhaanahu wa ta'aalaa give you strength.

Let's just take a sec to acknowledge how Imam Tom changes the way in which he brings across a message according to who he's talking to. Straight from the Sunnah, may Allah bless him

Alhamdulillah I observe that Imam Tom is becoming better and better in delivering insightful lecture into these very important post-modern, shameless ideologies. He's explanation is clear and thorough. May Allah reward him. Aameen.

As usual very well put imam Tom. We all sin and people like me have have glaring shortcomings, may Allah help us all and may Allah also help those muslims who are battling with same sex attraction. On a broader front here in the west we live in a very diverse and pluralistic society, we have benefitted enormously in that generally speaking we are tolerated and well integrated, we are allowed to practice our religion in peace we can build our masajids and schools without major pushbacks. By standing firm on our teachings and our values we are accused of intolerance and bigotry ( funny thing is orthodox jews hold the same views and values as us but they are never labelled as intolerant bigots only us and maybe the far right ) At the end of the day pleasing Allah as you point out is more important to us than pleasing people. May we navigate this difficult landscape with intelligence, thoughtfulness and a sense of compassion and may Allah help us in these difficult times

Asalamu alaikum... Good job! Just one comment... please check the tafseer works for when Lut said these are my daughters... he was not referring to his own daughters specifically but the women of his people

Islam is superior in the sense as it states to you your way of life and to me my way of life Islam does not force its way of life on others so others of different faiths and way of life should not be allowed to force or push their way of life on others and keep it to themselves and ALLAH knows best may ALLAH protect from the eternal fire Aameen YARABB

Islam do not force, many Muslims do and did throughout history. If we are honest, we must aknowledge that there's as much discrepancies between our principles and our actions as there is between the principles and actions of the theoretically just and fair democratic society and the farse it turned out to be.

Finally.....a lecture that reaches not just the heart, but the mind and intellect, and also not patronising the audience either! It would be interesting to tie this in with the hidden pandemic of narcissism, and how this pattern of behaviour not only destroys relationships and enables abuse, but that its the shadow behind many ideological movements ( including those that claim to be 'Islamic'.)

Beautiful explanation, MashaAllah TabarakAllah Not too hot about the politics thing. We are ONLY to live by Allah's laws no matter where we are in the world. That is what separates us from the others. Alhamdullilah And Allah (swt) makes it very clear when we rule by other than HIS laws what happens to us individually and collectively. We all suffer in on every level. Alhamdullilah May Allah (swt) guide us to the straight path and give us a strong understanding of how HIS unchanging words are to be implemented. Amen

Interesting and on point lecture except for the introduction, based on a dogmatic assumption that simply do not correlate with reality. "Brother you should know, and not believe" Bob Marley sang. If what you believe would make all the difference as the imam says, how come the world is full of millions of alleged believers, whether Muslims or other faiths, who oppress, kill, rob, steal, rape, con and cheat on one another? What you say you believe means nothing, is how you live that matters. I personally know many atheists who live a more moral and principled life than many so called Muslims.

As salam alaikum@@faraaq i am a Muslim as well, you don't have to convince me 😊 My point was different: profession of faith by itself is no guarantee of a principled life, while lack of faith by itself doesn't necessarily imply lack of principles. You get me?

Maybe, but also he is right in the part about it being 'belief'. Many Muslims are Muslim without real belief. They cherry pick the faith and choose what to believe as true and what to believe as false. Conversely many people ejo are even atheists do believe in something greater than themselves, whether they trust the way they were parented or something else. Just to give imaam the benefit of the doubt. But you are right, that argument does need to have more to it than the aspect of belief
