For my money, Benfords Galactic Center series is what I would call an absolute classic. Having read it in the mid 2000's it was actually harder than one might think to procure all the books, as they had been out of print for some time. Luckily they are or were recently back in print. Anyone who loves hard sci-fi, space operas and epic tales will be treated to a galactic mega story taking place over eons. Just a wonderful addition to the science fiction canon, and a series I just can't recommend enough. Way to go in getting these 2 absolute legends on your show, John!

Funny how when man envisions something like a Dyson Sphere he tends to imagine something that's often mechanical in structure. When nature in reality is always a horrifying beauty. I could in that context, see something more like a massive fractal of iron asteroids held together by an intelligence constructed of gravity. My theory is Laziness leads to efficiency. Why build a mega structure when you can more easily terraform a planet. Then there will be planets that just need some minor adjustments.
