Tech support can never fix this shit,they will just say that its broken fully and you need to buy a new one
@TheOriginalDevaad
2 жыл бұрын
Tech support typically doesn't have the tools or parts even on the rare occasions they have the necessary skills. They're glorified customer service, often without people skills. For something like this you don't need support, you need a proper repair technician. And you need to pay for their time and labor--a price influenced by their education fees and the need to make a profit for both the business to stick around and to cover their cost of living. Parts are a trifle in comparison. But repair technicians are relatively rare and American society is not geared towards repair. Makes it hard to match technicians with enough clients to cover business costs and paychecks. These jobs also aren't profitable enough for large businesses to offer the service due to the difficulty in finding such specialized workers for such mundane and relatively infrequent (due to societal expectations, how often issues occur, problem identification and advertising limitations) repairs. I suspect someone with these skills gets paid very well to repair heavier equipment for businesses too, so why would they want to do small repairs for chump change if they have such opportunities available?
@phillyphakename1255
Жыл бұрын
@@TheOriginalDevaad I am a pro repair technician, doing these kinds of repairs, and for me it comes down to the ease and reliability of finding work. The company I work for has nationwide repair contracts doing OEM RMA, each contract is worth tens of millions of dollars, lasts for years, and we have easy access to all the tools and parts and units to repair we need when we need them. I have stability, I don't have to deal with shipping, I don't have to deal with customers, with ordering stuff from sketchy sources, all I do is repair.

Unfortunately, there’s such a demand for INSTANT fixes (aka, replacement) for problems with electronics. Example, I used to sell phones for a living. People would come in ALL THE TIME saying, “I wish I could repair this!” I would tell them about the repair place literally 50 steps away from us. “How long will that take?!” “Idk, probably a couple hours? Go ask them.” “I ain’t got time for that. Just get me a new one.” Not only that, but people wouldn’t dispose of the old ones properly (even my coworkers). Humans have become SO impatient and consumerist…
@tubester358
2 жыл бұрын
@@heelercs well it's part of the goal of marketing, that's why a lot of the biggest companies spouting sustainability seem a bit hypocritical to me coz they spend millions convincing people that their phone from last year is obsolete and they should get the latest one, even though there's virtually no difference nowadays. At least some carriers in some countries have trade-in offers.
@heelercs
