Wow I am mind blown about the 3000-3500 rpms to polish. I've always gone by the tutorials from the past and they preached about ramping up to 4000-5000 rpms. The other day I was polishing and kept it at Yvan's recommendation of setting 3 (before this video aired) so that I can have more work time before dusting. This was on a retail compound and I was amazed that it still cut. It not only cut, but gave me all the work time I needed while making the machine easier to work with at lower speeds! Thank DIY detail for confirming this experience!

you need 2 machine( 21mm dual action and a rotary ) / 3 diffrent pads ( Wool, yellow waffle and red jeveling pad ) and system 4000 pad washer this is by far the easiest, cheapest, and least amount of arsenal you can have to tackle almost every single polishing job, regardless of the hardness of the paint It's dummy proof as well. just by watching couple of diy polishing video, anyone can polish a car in no time with great reults. Yvan thought me, polishing doesn't have to be so complicated and time consuming. Actually entire car detailing is easy and inexpensive, with mr Yvan. He is the best guy on earth when it comes to detailing.

Couple of questions... as you pointed out the old way was to put on a few dots... then spread the polish by pressing the pad on the area in a few places.. run on low speed to spread then high speed to polish. Am I correct that your way is to put one spray on a moving pad and simply start polishing the area on a low speed? also.. you say use a damp pad.. are you wetting it on the very first use.. then cleaning it every so often which keeps it damp throughout?

Hi Yvan (or anyone from DIY for that matter). Thanks for this vid - Im getting really close to having a go at this. I have a relatively new car (4000 miles) and ive used DIY methods and products since new. It probably has the odd light scratch here or there but not too much (its white so hard to tell!). i was thinking of investing in a Ryobi battery powered DA with an 8mm offset (Yvan mentioned this is a good beginners DA in a previous vid). I have an orbital sander with a 2mm offset. If i use the Ryobi 8mm with the gold waffle pad - is it reasonable to finish with the 2mm orbital sander and the jewling pad? i know you said the jewling pad is designed for a rtary but i dont want to buy a rotary and a DA at the same time. Is a 2mm offset on the orbital sander not too far off a rotary? Thanks, Matt
