Not sure if it was before or after that they give it to United on the ferry to Holland .

Back then you either gave a good kicking or got a good kicking, it was part of the thing and strange as often or not I would have been hanging out with plenty of east end skinheads down Carnaby St and all mates but come the football and all bets were off and often had to run the gauntlet of going through Chelsea, Tottenham lot as much as bumping into Wet Spam on the tube as we made our way to Euston or Kings X and you knew they were there because West End Central had their SPG down on the trains and platforms and we didn't care as they were viable targets as much as the other side were. Ironically I married into a heavy east end family, erstwhile neighbours of Lenny McLean, the infamous Hanmore's two doors up from Lenny with Wally the eldest being a trusted "Firm" chap, then I was dancing in a different league altogether and the only time I ever kept schtum about my team was down the Lane, having tea with ol' Pop and Tony Burns, having a bet with Foxy Phil or a host of other characters, the ex father in law passed away today and yet he gave me respect as I earned it the hard way.

Oh yes, brings back a few straighteners on Blackheath Common or around Woolwich when the dopey ice cream sellers came across the water, waiting for them in our black transits tooled up for a good show and some managed to get back... or sometimes we made a flying visit to Stratford or Forest Gate and wiped out a pubload, I remember when they thought the Yorkshire Grey was one of our pubs... kinda bloodbath and we did so chortle... same as them who fancied a go in the Thomas A Becket down the old kent... or the Governor General, with the Downham Tavern was the best as they ended up face to face with some heavy Northern Irish chaps who seemed quite happy to hand out a Belfast education to all. We did try to lure 'em into the Castle in Lewisham, passing the word it was a true blue pub but they weren't having that as that place would have made the Blue Oyster seem hetero. Amusing as my skinheadry antics saw me on Channel 4 not so long after this was aired in a documentary about my hooliganism, fighting the police, fighting everyone... cutting out completely any reference to Millwall and the lockup confiscated my signature T shirts and had to wear stuff a spavined pimp would have turned down and I was under court order not to shave my bonce either. Made in Britain was partially based on much of my at the time criminal and social work casefiles, with the Channel 4 documentary picking up after my various visits to every London secure unit who very quickly chucked me back at the courts until I was sent to Redhill where out of sight of the wringy handed social wotsits they got to work on me body and soul and I don't think I could piss straight that first month my knackers had been stamped on by screws determined to "learn me my manners"...
