Nah, born in '67 and my first TV memories being Nixon on the road to impeachment and 16mm TV newsfilm of Vietnam - except for 'smartphones' and huge flatscreen TVs, I don't think much has changed - except people are getting dumber and easier to manipulate.

🎶There are two little magic words That can open any door with ease One little word is “Thanks” And the other little word is “Please.” Oh you’ll be so surprised What these two little words can do They work like a charm for me And they’ll work like a charm for you.🎶

I agree. I’m 64 now in the year 2020, and enjoyed my mornings on black and white TV with the Captain when I was just a tyke. He’s long since passed, but I’ll never forget or stop appreciating the innocence of those days.

Wow I just just Wiki checked Bob Keeshan (Captain Kangaroo) this kindly, gentle teacher of my youth actually began the show a few days before my birth in 1955 & it continued nearly 3 decades! That I didn't know. Also, before then he played Clarabelle on Howdy Doody, who knew? did You? I have found only a very little bit of the actual show on KZitem and wish someone could possibly post more! What a treasure ~ Thank you Captain!

I was born in 1981 and grew up watching Captain kangaroo on PBS. I didn’t know until recently that it was on CBS before PBS. The ending song with the biking jumping rowing throwing sliding laughing gasping cooking surfing, there’s so much to do the rest is up to you..really made me want to get outside and play.

I like that song, Flowers on the wall. The Statler Brothers had a song of it, and I think The New Christy Minstrels. Strange thing though, because on the color version of the show, they kept saying how bad cigarettes were for people. They'd have a cartoon where someone would say, "Smoking...yuck!"
