Well, the NEMA style bucket lights that you own and operate are meant for wide spread lighting of a rather huge area. They spread the light all around the whole area instead of focusing it. If you take the lenses off, you will increase the light spread even more, but you get more glare. If you want more light directly on your parking area etc. you should use actual cobra head street lights that reflect the light downward with reflectors. This will probably more than double your usable lumens with the same bulb wattage as your bucket lights. ;)

No the parking area i want spread. The problem im sayibg thpugh is on ultity poles.. or trees for example.. the poles actually block all the light behind the fixture.. because it shines right on the pole . Leaving a big shadow behind the light pile. So basically the reflector idea i have takes that wasted light thats just shining on the pole and pushes it fowards or down more
