I just randomly stumbled upon this channel. Great insights. It's great to find content about the aftermarket world. It seems like such a huge industry with very little information out there about what goes on behind the scenes

Welcome CS, I am hoping this channel really shows a lot more of the behind the scenes and is educational and a learning process for all of us. Hope you subscribed! Thanks again

Nothing good every comes out of take overs. 1st redundancies. 2nd closing down of factories etc. 3rd Price increases. 4th Dropping of not do popular lines. 5th general streamlining of production to make more money for stockholders. 6th when they have bled the company of all assets the less profitable departments will be closed and the best profit departments sold.

Not wrong in what you are saying, generally that's how things go. I was hoping to be optimistic with it. Being in the industry I do think the people who are behind the scenes are the true assets, there are some amazing smaller companies doing great innovations and brining value when the big guys start to get out of hand.

3rd is correct already. Mandrus wheels saw price increase across the line as that what I was looking for a Benz. Gotta pay for the acquisition cost. Probably all them increased with the excuse of, "material costs" and being pandemic related.

I can say decisively that it is bearing out to be a bad thing. Black Rhino wheels are already scarcely available. They roll out new designs...but their inventory is next to nothing. Check out the matrix on TSW's website. No wheels in any of their warehouses, and seemingly no wheels in the pipeline.

@@franklyle2798 A few factors are playing into that. Besides the typical pandemic blame-game, you have the whole Suez channel shipping debacle and the back up of containers at US ports. On top of that WP is moving a lot of wheel manufacturing to USA with plants in SC and a second one in AL. I bought some wheels that had some serious Quality Control (QC) issues. I had to exchange for a new set that still wasn't 'perfect' finish. Hopefully 'Made in USA' will bring much higher QC and affordable pricing.

@@mowomedia4801 All of that may be true. All I know from my point of view is that if a small independent wheel group can get small batches of wheels imported from Thailand on a regular basis (say a container a month or so)...then Wheel Pros should be able to do the same. I think they are overextended and too large to be tractable at this point. With just Black Rhino and Fuel...they must have over 100 styles of wheels that are out of stock. That cannot be sustainable over the long haul...

A year later, you are right, TSW has become a shell of what it used to be, not sure if it will be around much longer, disappointing how things went.
