When Chevrolet introduced its new and improved cars for 1955, it made a huge impact on the American automobile market. From 1955 to 1957, Chevrolet made a serious effort to outsell Ford’s popular sedans resulting in some of the most popular cars of all time, the Tri Five Chevys.
Tri Five Chevrolet models rolled off the assembly line with steel wheels. Low optioned cars featured small center caps, commonly referred to as “dog dish” caps. Higher options, such as the Bel Air, featured full wheel covers that attached to the wheel using small dimples in the rim.
Wheel Vintiques reproduces this popular wheel in O.E. fitments and custom sizes. It all starts with high strength steel, stamped in a multi-stage process to create the O.E. style center section. That center is precision welded to a steel rim, and dimpled to accept stock ten-and-one-eighth-inch Chevrolet caps from the Tri Five era.
O.E. Tri Five wheels feature a single five by four-and-three-quarter-inch bolt pattern, for direct fitment. Original Tri Five steel wheels do not clear aftermarket disc brake systems, but the new Tri Five wheel from Wheel Vintiques will clear standard disc brake upgrade kits. All O.E. Tri Five wheels are proudly made in the USA.
Wheel Vintiques features an in-house powder-coating facility, and all O.E. Tri Five wheels come standard with a satin black powder coat finish.
Increase the value of your classic Chevrolet with O.E. Tri-five wheels and accessories from Wheel Vintiques.
