I’m a 4 hc, and I also lean on my putting to score low. My advice is to stop making putting so difficult. It isn’t! Here’s how I putt…. I take as much time as needed to be 100% committed to my read. NEVER change your mind over a putt. If you “feel” something different than what you read, back off until you have completely made up your mind. Then commit! Then I’ll pick a very specific spot about 3-4” in front of my ball, to start the ball rolling across. Technique doesn’t enter my mind. I have a VERY specific task at hand. Start my ball perfectly on my intended line. Period. I’ve already predetermined the speed with my practice strokes. I simply repeat that length of stroke, or power of stroke, as I start the ball perfectly on my spot, or line. All putts won’t go in, but I never worry about the outcome. You’ll be surprised at how many that DO go in. Putting is executing a specific task, and the task is actually very simple, with such a short motion.

I think the most underrated part of your game is not only keeping the ball in play but hitting fairways and greens. You hit it straight time after time after time after time. I could only dream of doing that. I spew all my clubs all over the place and it’s the reason I’m a 13 handicap and not a 7. Sometimes I will go -1 through 3 holes and then go +10 on the next 6 to shoot a 45.

Just discovered...and I am enjoying...this channel. I really appreciate the pace and length of these videos compared to other channels. I really do not understand the comment that hitting fairways and greens in regulation is "boring golf," however. When I play holes like they are "supposed to be played" I'm absolutely thrilled!!! I'm currently trying to get my average round down to 79 (my home course is a par 70). Sadly, where I live, the season won't be starting for a couple months...

Nice round! Your misses are mostly all playable. That smother hook keeps the less than perfects tee shots down and out of trouble. Your mishit with that way-inside takeaway, way past parallel move is a push or topped shot. Tone down the backswing a bit and you'll improve your consistentcy on the longer shots.

Practice tip.. not being a big hitter myself I tend to have hybrid and woods from the fairways quite often, one of my go-to practice routines while playing a course is to hit my tee shot and on my way to my ball drop a ball in the fairway/rough/side slope wherever and play that ball as well as my tee shot

A lot of people talk about how important the inside 100 game is, and I’m not saying it’s not. But, did you see how well he drove the ball? Kept himself in play and had shots at the green all day. Yes, Adam does have a very good short game/putting, but also remember he has opportunities to get up and down for par most of the time and not up and down for double.

I don’t usually comment on these, but heard your comment about speed sticks. I definitely think you can gain speed. In conjunction with the speed sticks , watch some of the vids on speed training while hitting balls. Hitting them as hard as you can and not worrying about where they are going. Then your back off to normal swing is a little faster than it was be for. Also, check out Jacob Bowden vids for some speed specific workouts. That helped me a lot as well. It is a long slow process, but it can be done if you are persistent. I gained almost 10 mph of club head speed in about 9 months. Now some might think that’s not worth it, but when your driver speed goes from 94-95 to 103, that makes a pretty big difference. All my irons are roughly 2 clubs longer as well.
