There's a guy in Lakeland who fishes the Tenoroc lakes with a Zebco reel who always slays the bass. I was kayaking with my step daughters boyfriend and we couldn't find a bite using senkos and other worms that day. He putts by in his jon boat and pulls up a big 3# right in front of us. We asked what he was using and he said a Zoom black trick worm. He said if you can't catch anything on one of them then you might as well go home.

Black works in the Summer, but I prefer a lighter setup. A 4 inch Slider Worm from the Charlie Brewer company, on a Slider hook. It's hard to beat, anywhere in the water column.

I use it year round here in pinellas county, Fl on a stand up jig and Texas rigged around grass in the summer, and it produces giants in the drains and sewers in the winter! Always in enjoy watching both your channels and love to use the info you give in the water!

You ever fish Lake Maggiore? The water is low now so if you have a bigger boat you can’t use the ramp

I made my own worms last year and they came out a dark brown and when you held them up in the sun it kinda looked like a Birchbeer color and the Bass loved them. I also put in silver fleck glitter in them.

One good thing is I have about 3 of 5 colors in the same bag. Limited space in a kayak and they don't seem to bleed their colors. Nice looking new tackle room.

Randy you are so right ! I used a ribbon tail, and you just confirmed that a trick worm should be utilized. You always give me a new idea and reinforce what I’m doing ! Happy 4th of July to you and your family !

When my home water was a med/large coastal/anadromous river, I used black mann's worms and slammed the bass, because I had previously caught a fat 6 lb'er that was spitting up 6" lampreys. After 'matching the hatch' with the black worms, my catches greatly improved. Worked great on stripers as well. If you happen to fish a coastal/anadromous stream that has a lamprey run and bass, it may be worth a try.

The best worm I ever used back in the"old days" the color was called"moter oil" . Someone on another site said that you can still buy them, but wouldn't respond back as to where. I have caught more bass with that worm almost year round depending on water color, than any thing else. Can you possibly tell me if someone still makes them? Now that I am retired, I want to get back to fishing!!!

I remember that exact worm you’re talking about. I started in the mid 70’s and absolutely SLAYED bass continually on that bait. 🤜🏾🙂
