This man has to go down in history as one of the best heavyweight boxers of all time! His explosive power was second to none. His right and left hooks were night nights. The guy is, and most definitely was an epic Boxer. If anyone drew a crowd, it was Tyson! Usually because he'd put people to sleep in 1 or 2 rounds. He's possibly the first person I saw to smash someone to pieces with body punches! 🤣 Seriously dangerous guy.

Tyson, in my opinion, is just an amazing human being. Ali will always be the greatest as a boxer, philanthropist, and humanitarian but Tyson as a young fighter was incredible to watch. Like a goddamn lion stalking prey just waiting and to attack with lighting speed with gatling guns for punches, the lightning uppercuts, close to the body like an armored tank defense...incredible

Honestly looked like tyson was playing with green to keep him alive for as long as possible just to punish him. If tyson really wanted to finish him off, the fight would've been over in the 1st round with a killer upper cut blow that would send green to heaven real quick.

Mike Tyson is the total package. He is genuine and kind along with being a total badass. He honestly seems like a fun person to be around. It’s good this former gang member got his act together. Tyson doesn’t need a gang and is a one man wrecking crew. Now that he’s clean and sober and is spiritual, he will always be a force to not take lightly because of age.

@OUR GOVERNMENT SUCKS - Exactly! Which is what led me to think Mike was the guy that shut down so many dudes who had to feel his power personally before their big over confident egos got readjusted into a much more subdued form of humility. I feel physical domination sometimes is the only cure for toxic masculinity. To be sure, Mike himself was guilty of toxic masculinity further down the line, as his trainer D’Amato died in ‘85 and his mentor and father figure was gone, Mike was forced to grow up in public. After many bad mistakes, I think eventually he saw the light. You do notice though how Mike would often try to help his opponents up after defeating them in the first few years. There was a sliver of a decent ok guy there it seems all along. However, the kind of power he had was too dangerous to keep under wraps. With fame always comes shame as Sun Ra once said. Mike certainly got some of that from life soon enough.

@MetalizedButt I doubt any educated person has ever said that. Bruce Lee was actually full of shit. His boxing technique was trash, he had no defense and actually didnt throw punches very well in a fight. He was better than an average Joe in a fight but literally nowhere near today's professional.

Tyson's height and weight is actually perfect. I've noticed that the taller boxers with killer reach also tend to be slightly clumsier than the stocky builds like Iron Mike. Also....not sure if you noticed, but look at Tyson's head and neck compared to most of his opponents. His thick neck and head can take a longer beating than the average boxer. He was the perfect build for his division........the Goldilocks build if you will.

And let me add that I love Mohammed Ali. I'm not even knocking him. He seemed to be a far better human being outside of the ring than Tyson. I love the man!! Admire him. @Major Pwner Yup. And to add to fantasy fights like Ali vs. Tyson, watch Ali fights and you will notice that Ali let boxers get him close to the ropes. He did it often and got quite comfortable doing his speedy shit in those areas. However, you just can't do that with Tyson. You will get powerful uppercuts deep inside and followed by a hook of Mike's choice. It's silly....but I would say Ali goes down in one round....not prepared for the new style.

@Michael Glendinning I agree with you. As someone who's over 6 feet tall, the little stocky guys are a real threat. There's a point where reach advantage can pale in comparison to other factors like leverage and speed.

@No Name I disagree. I'm not saying the tall fellas with killer reach are not deadly. They are. Tyson's training was to fight almost everyday. He would average one knock out a week in training. A 218 lb stocky scrapper like Tyson is scarier to me than Andre the Giant. That's all there is to it.

This isn’t true at all Tyson build is a disadvantage if anything. His loss against the tall Lenox Lewis shows this a taller boxer whose at his skill level is very challenging for him. He’s the only guy at his height to really compete in heavyweight for a reason taller is usually better.

I’ll never forget watching Tyson fights as a kid...it was actually comical. People would spend months getting hyped for the fight and he would go out there and absolutely destroy them and it was over before you could even blink. Some fights were over so fast you were like, wtf just happened. Ali may have been the best “boxer” ever but Tyson was an absolute animal in the ring.

@John Edwards there’s was/is a compilation of quotes by Iron Mike on YT. Coming up I remember many of them , but still hilarious. A lot of it shit he couldn’t get away with today in our ultra sensitive pc culture. I believe what used to happen was they’d pull him off his meds a couple weeks before a fight and when someone would stick a microphone/camera in his face , you never knew what the hell he was gonna say or do. He was a funny dude sometimes, even if it was unintentional

@SourMonk Your entire arguement is speculation. 'Maybe' nothing. Mike was still fighting professionally less than 2 years ago, and is still more physically active than most people half his age. So that whole "he had to calm down" theory of yours is nonsense. "1M was a lot of money in the 90s bro" You say that as if that wasn't relatively recent. Adjusting for inflation to present day barely changes that number. It's a drop of water to an ocean of what Tyson was making. The woman refused the 1M because she wanted more money and it backfired so she ended up without anything for her lies. And of course he denies it to this day. Who is going to admit to committing a disgusting crime they're innocent of? Use your head. Nobody is going to admit to doing something they didn't do. There was 0 evidence presented against Mike other than that woman's accusations. You can dig deep and find the police reports and see that the assault kit they used on the woman came back showing 0 signs that her claims were true. His DNA wasn't even present anywhere on her body or the scene of the alleged crime. Which if you know anything about forensics, you'd know that's almost impossible if he was actually present or did that to her. Tyson isn't smart enough to outwit crime scene investigators and completely erase every single trace of his DNA inside of someone's body, and in a bed where his sweat / hair would've been abundant. (had it actually happened) You mad he didn't get charged for a crime without any evidence to back it up? Sorry. That's how the legal system works. Public opinion doesn't equate to guilt. And at least Tyson doesn't spend his free time trash talking people he doesn't actually know, like you do. He spends it growing. You should try the same.

@David Leonard Yeah i know Mitch's story. But what ended up of him? Going back to the street, doing drugs? Surely he could've lived a much better, more successful life if he stayed a boxer. No one could've beaten Tyson at that time anyway. But maybe he could've had a decent boxing career if he came back and devoted himself. A rematch would've been suicide. He should've focussed on fighting other boxers imo. But it's always easy to look back and say he should've done this or that. And yeah ego and pride plays a big part but in the end, it's all meaningless. You shouldn't let ego or pride get in the way of your future. When all is said and done, no one will care about your reputation at the time. All they care about is whether you're successful or not. Muhammed Ali, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard, all the greats etc lost. And then they came back and redeemed themselves. That's the way how it should be. And even if they lost and never became champion again, knowing they gave it their all, is a redemption to themselves. But quitting? That will haunt you forever.

@C he didn't get knocked out because Mike CHOSE NOT to knock him out...but I understand what you are saying. Boxing is more than just a sport and money..especially heavyweight. A ton of it is about pride and ego (which Mike so openly talks about, these days). That was a huge deflation to Mitch's ego- especially when he couldn't get a rematch. He was a leader of a blood gang and the man in the STREET, before he even stepped foot in the ring. That loss damaged his reputation, bro. Much more than just boxing.

@Duane Holcomb You know what I respect your opinion but I would have to disagree on this , Well honestly I think if Mike stayed with Cus (If he still was alive) that fight could’ve gone different from the original fight , I really hated Mike had got that rib injury in 89-92 I can’t quite remember exactly what year but I know for a fact they were supposed to fight around the early 90’s . I still don’t think Mike would’ve beaten him but I most definitely think if Mike stayed with his original guys his fight with Evander would’ve been WAYYYY different than the original fight that we all know but this is also my opinion and I’m glad you respect mine 👍
