She was surely interviewed by a doctor, and if she didn't show signs of acute psychosis requiring immediate hospitalisation, then the only option would be to release her. Maybe they did find something but only wanted to follow up and treat, because she managed to hid the acute and extreme severity of it. Look at that first interview with the police when she has her daughter with her. She seems pretty normal there, doesn't she? If she was like that with the doctor, then that would be the answer why she wasn't forcibly hospitalised.

No! It is the half world that is crazy. I live in Scandinavia and it is the same here. The problem in modern society is that we give everybody a high education without measuring their IQ first, so we end up with people that have learned more than their IQ can deal with. Begining making cults, sekts, criminality, corruption, terrorism and all sort of shit, because they are wise but no IQ to fattom the consecvence of their actions. Have a positive and lucky future, I think we all will need it.

Love how no one ever took this poor man seriously. Immediately accepting everything the wife said and blatantly disregarding every concern and statement the husband brought forward. Now, because of these ignorant cops, detectives, mental health institutes, and I'm sure plenty more, three innocent lives were lost and an actual lunatic was let free for long enough to take away those lives. Absolutely disgusting. I hope that this sticks with them all as they were absolutely three reason for it happening. This man did everything he could to protect the children and get his wife the help that she desperately needed. Instead they were all punished for the failure of all of these people. Beyond shameful and disgusting.

The Psychologist does a LOUSY job interrogating the wife, LORI, by using leading questions all the while saying "I dont want to put words into your mouth." Etc. She is coaching or prompting her testimony, leading her instead of letting the client speak for herself. BAD JOB in discovery leading to the subsequent husband's needless murder.

Agreed...I am nowhere near the Mormon Church, but ppl in power get to control the outcome way too often. I must disagree....I would say her family encouraged it more or less, she talk and behave like a teen while being a middle aged woman and everyone, especially her family approved if not even encouraged it (but likely the cops to a less degree). They encourage it perhaps not openly but subconsciously, they feel needed by the infantile middle aged woman in her various problems.
