Only time I've left a game early was a Giants baseball game I took a friend visiting from Australia and it went into extra innings, was already past 11:30pm and he was jetlagged. Was funny because on our walk to the train station from the stadium, we heard the fans cheer as the Giants won lol so if we just waited an extra 30 mins..

Years ago I was watching my Indianapolis Colts getting trampled by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. There was less than four minutes to the end of the game, and the Bucs lead by 21 points. Not wishing to see my team lose, I turned off the TV. The next morning I was listening to a radio sports show, and they started talking about the Colts' win. I thought it was a joke, but no... Peyton Manning and the Colts scored 21 points in about 3.5 minutes, the game went into overtime, and the Colts pulled out a win. I learned my lesson, and now I never stop watching a game prematurely. You never know what could happen, and the game isn't over until the final second ticks off the clock.

I did the same thing during the Patriots/Seahawks superbowl. I left the party early and drove home in silence. I walked into the house and my dad was SO mad (he can't stand Brady, Patriots, or anyone not the Giants). And my younger sister said, "I can't believe the Patriots won!" I thought she was joking.

As a St. Louis Cardials fan, YOU NEVER LEAVE THE GAME EARLY! The Cards are notorious for winning playoff and World Series games at the last very moment. In Game 6 of the 2011 World Series they came back to win it in the 11th ending with a walk off home run by a St. Louis native at that. There's some great videos about just that historic game alone!

There's always a problem with true "fair weather" fans in places like Miami and Los Angeles where they just seem less devoted because they have better things to do. Compare that to the insane devotion of fans in freezing bergs like Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, where they usually stay to the bitter end, especially in a close game. Miami even has that problem in college football.

On December 14th, 1980 my friend and I both 15 at the time were at the Metropolitan Stadium to see the Minnesota Vikings Vs the Cleveland Browns. If either team wins their in the Playoff's if either team loses they will be eliminated. The day started out very warm for December in Minnesota. By the 3rd Quarter it had gotten very cold and we were not dressed for the cold. Our team the Vikings trailed by 23-9 in the 4th Quarter and we debated if we should leave, but we were die hard fans and stayed. The Vikings won the game on the last play a Hail Mary from QB Tommy Kramer to WR Ahmad Rashad in one of the greatest comebacks in team history. I still have my ticket stub and a fantastic memory. Watch it, it's on YT.

I don't think I've ever seen a closer call than that high school shot at the end. Go to 11:49 in the video and watch the backboard go red as the player shoots. If you step through the video frame by frame it looks like the ball is at the end of his extended arms at the exact moment the red light goes on. Total judgement call from the refs that is right either way they call it.
