Hi Microbehunter! I would like to see what happens to bacteria exposed to UV light and if copper destroys bacteria! Thanks for the great videos

Yes copper (and other metals) can inhibit growth of organisms. There is an example of this in this video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/yopp14R9hmSFl4o

I aways found endosymbiosis interesting, especially since it's the main theory as to how more complicated cells with organelles came to exist. It might be a bit of a philosophical question, but how integrated would an endosymbiotic cell need to be, before it would be considered an organelle that is part of the main cell, as opposed to a seperate organism living inside of another cell?

Hey microbehunter! You should make a video of putting a smart phone under the microscope. I’ve done it and it’s shows you exactly how it works that we’re only looking at 3 colors RGB red green and blue. The colors get darker and brighter and it looks as if it’s mixed from our naked eye

Can you show us what the surface of a rubber tire looks like under your microscope?
@Microbehunter
Жыл бұрын
Rubber does not allow light to go through, so it will appear just totally black. With a stereo microscope, it would be much different, but the tire is too large for it..... would have to cut a piece off.

Hello Oliver! I have a question about filters. I accidentally broke my glassy blue filter and now i don't know what to do. I have a halogen lamp so I can't do microscopy without a filter and it costs ~13$ which is insane to pay that much money for the piece of colored glass. Do you know how to do DIY filters?

There are blue daylight filters on ebay which were used in the analog photography days. They were used to convert artificial light (very red) to light that has a color more similar to daylight (for white balance of analog film). You might be able to get used ones, and put them over the halogen lamp. Or use color printer or marker to color a (heat resistant) laser printer foil.

@@Microbehunter Thank you! And another question. I've found a set of diffrent plastic filters (on journey to the microcosmos shop), they are 25,50 dollars. And there's another variant, one blue glass filter for 13 dollars. So should i save for a set or should i buy the glassy one ?

Why do they constantly spin around on the spot?
@Microbehunter

This could be due to the restricted movement that they have because they are sandwiched between slide and cover glass.

Ask.. uhm.. the unemployed. Bürgergeld for life. Although the part of being mutually beneficial may be a bit of a stretch, depending how the recipients use their time to benefit society as a whole.

@brokengames9020 I recommend the following book (which I read, and which I can recommend): Bullshit Jobs: A Theory (by David Graeber). The author gives many examples where people become frustrated because they consider their (often high-paying) job worthless and even harmful. Interesting reading, but a bit lengthy.

Thank you. I'm aware of the book before author died. The next question is: Are people who have bullshit jobs aware they are doing bullshit work? Can bullshit job be harmful to society?@@Microbehunter
