Maybe he’s more famous for that other job of his…the one he buys all the baggies for… But then I stopped mid-laugh when I realized he’s got those BC pills because he doesn’t trust the girl to not get pregnant by him. So he controls when she takes them, where, etc. I mean if you’re that concerned YOU could use the birth control. And bonus…less STD’s from all your employees/girlfriends. I mean I have to assume he’s pimping them because to speak about women you have some type of actual non-business relationship with, even if onl s*xual or a friends with benefits type of thing, is just vile. And it doesn’t make him look like some lucky guy gettin’ all the b*tches. He just sounds like someone trying too hard to seem relevant despite his way behind-the-times attitude. To reduce the women you’re intimate with on a regular basis (at least one hence the BC pills) to a bunch of d*ck suckers is worse than your average rapper’s misogyny regardless of level of “fame.”

That Farron Salley is quite a piece of work. She's fired, then returns, then quits because shit gets public.. She just could turn this into joke by saying "I was complete bitch that evening and I've learned my lesson.." Nope, her pride didn't allow to admit to wrongdoing and to live with episode of making fool of herself. She chose to ditch her career over her ego. Regardless - she showed one thing - you never pass FSTs, it's biased and as soon as you're asked to do these - you're DONE. That's why she should have refuse FSTs and ask for breathalyzer test right away instead of playing into this whole circus.
@CC-jf3wq

Well, refusal can cause automatic suspension, and by doing them, she bought herself just enough time to blow under the legal limit.
@SVD_NL
11 ай бұрын
@@CC-jf3wqthat is not true. FSTs are not mandatory (maybe they are in some states, but in the 15+ states i checked they are not and i cba to look further). Chemical tests are mandatory and refusal has consequences. Also, if a cop asks for FSTs they already made up their mind about arresting you, and it seems like they rarely have a breathalyzer on them, so you're probably going back to the station for tests either way. Refusal is usually better as it can only work as evidence against you and rarely helps you in any way.

@CC-jf3wq I don't believe that's the case with FST's. In the US, DUIs fall primarily under state law, but the state is still obligated to ensure that all local laws align with federal Constitutional requirements, above all else. Participation in FSTs must be voluntary, in all jurisdictions. I know that it's almost always true in regards to chemical test refusals. If a cop arrests a driver for DUI, that driver is legally required to take a blood, breath, or urine test, depending on that state's Implied Consent Laws. A driver who refuses the mandatory chemical test will almost always face serious additional penalties.

I've never heard of any of them but Farren Salley's story is probably a textbook case study in what not to do. She would probably be a national media celeb today earning millions rightfully so but she had to pull the "Do you know who I am?" routine forgetting that everything is on video now ... as she herself might have demanded as a news caster after George Floyd. She became a victim of herself in more ways than one. Her story is a great lesson for all of us.

By the time the police drove her to the station, got her booked and checked in, and ran the test, it could have easily taken an hour or more to run the test. A friend of mine was once arrested for a DUI and he waited nearly 3 hours for his test because the station was a mad house that night. Police stations tend to be busier on peak nights (i.e., Thursday, Friday. Saturday, etc.). Also, alcohol leaves the body at an average rate of 0.015 g/100mL/hour, which is the same as reducing your BAC level by 0.015 per hour. She wasn't overly drunk to begin with; it was her attitude that probably led to her arrest, because she did reasonablly well on the sobriety tests. Therefore, between her initial BAC levels not being too high to begin with and the amount of time that passed by between her arrest and BAC test, her BAC levels began to decline to a "passing" level. I think she was very lucky to have the charges dropped, but the toll on her career is devestating.

They should not have dropped DUI charges on Salley. She was arrested for DUI. The breath test was a separate charge. They evidently gave her a huge break.
@alexbartha274

I think it's because any prosecutor would've found it to be a waste of time and money. She wasn't driving erratically and was pulled over for a tail light. And while the breath test is a separate charge, the fact that it was under the limit would only supplement her claim that she was okay to drive. With all of this as ammo, any competent lawyer could get her off. It would be pointless for the state or county to pursue charges.
@pixnstix
6 ай бұрын
@@alexbartha274 Alcohol affects different people differently. One person could test under the "legal limit" and still be under the influence of alcohol (OVI). Also, BAC tests are accurate to within .005 grams of alcohol per 210 liters of breath. If she elected to use the test results at trial, she would have to call an expert to quantify the results, and the State would also call in an expert, who would testify that her BAC may have been coming down from the time of the stop to the test, and how that much alcohol would affect a person of her build. If the whole video is played to a jury, there is a good chance she would be found guilty. And she came across as very unlikeable. They don't need bad driving, or a breath test to convict. A competent Prosecutor/DA, who picks a good jury, could get a guilty verdict. Yes, there are no guarantees.
