I've heard of people potting cattleyas in moss but leaving space in the bottom of the pot so that the roots get enough airflow. Glad that you found something that works well for your environment.

I've been away from your channel for a long time (trying to cut my media addiction)....,but wow, so nice to see your lovely face! I'm used to your hands only. Which I think was brilliant branding yourself as different! But, I'm thrilled to see your face today! Nice!

I don't have too much Vandas these days (most of them didn't survive /discount orchids/) but this year I consider to move part of my collection outside for summer time. Dendrobium did very well in last two years. So this year I want to give a try some other types of orchids. I live in central Europe and temperatures are now quite stable at nights (above 10'C). Not sure yet which specific plants will take part in the experiment but I'm sure about my new cymbidium. Beside that maybe 2-3 cattelyas, some tolumnia, regular phals, epidendrum? Any tips appriacted 😊

Hi Dani, I mostly have Phalenopsis orchids, but they are not doing well in my current setup of bark with Spagnum moss in a Lechuza pot. Before that I tried to grow them in pure Lechuza Pon, which is supposed to be great for Orchids. But that did not work too well, either. Do you have experience with Phalenopsis in pure Sphagnum moss? I would really like to keep my Orchids healthy and pretty and am still looking for the right setup. I am interested in your thoughts. Many thanks for your entertaining and interesting videos (I just love the birds in the background😂).

You've ALWAYS been Miss Cattleya Girl to me ! ^^ The yellow tint on your Tropical Pointer 'Cheetah' is amazing. I don't own one, but seeing the other pictures on the internet, it appears that some have a white base, and some others have this yellow base. Do you think it can be an environment thing, like light or heat ?

Just wanted to mention my own experience with my Retusa. The flower spikes for mine take FOREVER to grow. For some reason it just grows it’s spikes very slowly compared to my other orchids. Hope that’s the case for yours as well.

I saw the original video of the algae covered orchid. I thought it would suffocate and die. It is so good to see with the right care (shampoo, dry off/ 😂 beauty treatments) that she has survived and now thrives. A good decision indeed. Thanks Danny for the inspiration to carry on with my collection of seedlings.

It has no impact on pestes don't worry, it would probably make me nauseous and ill though 😅

Do you use Reptibark for your orchids? If you do, do you treat it before using it?
