Probably the greatest 7 game series I've seen. Bird was insane. That foul on Rambis just sent him to the line for two shots. No fines, no ejections. Back when t was a man's game.

There's no defense now...run down the court...shoot...run back down court...shoot. It's like watching tennis.

I'm ashamed to say I enjoy watching the fights Bird used to get in to. To me, he's the most fun player to watch. And mad love to Kareem. Back in the day we all knew who and what Kareem was but the years have faded our appreciation of him. One of the great greats for sure. Thanks for the video!

So much fun to watch back in the day. It's true that most of us were enjoying College games before Bird and Magic came along. The resurgence was really something to witness. We would pop that corn and settle in for the show! Lol

Because it was so physical that's why players didn't have the longevity they have now. Players were playing 82 games a season. There was no load management. You only didn't play if you were tooo injured not to play.In the game where Magic got the baby skyhook while being guarded by Mchale, Mchale had a broken foot and couldn't go to his left. The teams were so competitive back then. As far as Bird he was every where doing everything. You could not rest if you were guarding bird. Even injured he could lead his team to victory. Another tidbit. When the Celtics got swept by the Milwaukee bucks Bird was so sick with a flu that he was unable to to play and missed one of the games and was sick when he did play. He made no excuses though. Just loved watching bird play. No matter how they played he told you how it was.Because the game was so different you cannot compare Eras. Bird was a great player he would adjust to the league of today for sure. His skill and tenacity would translate to any era. Enjoyed your reaction as always ❤

B.N.H. MEDIA this was an awesome series, where Bird became Larry Legend- yes, he called his team mates out, said they were playing like sissies and needed to man up, they came out and hammered the Laker's to slow them down and Bird just did it all on both ends...Larry Legend came up so big in how he played and led his team that BILL RUSSELL himself said Bird made him proud to be a Celtic- the ultimate praise! LARRY LEGEND IS THE REAL GOAT!

Here's 1 more reason why LB has my vote for the 🐐 of 🏀. At exactly 1 min and 50 secs - 2 min in the video; watch 👀 what Larry does... he helps Kurt Rambis up off of the floor after that *DIRTY Takedown* by Kevin McHale!! Larry, *IMMEDIATELY* went over to Rambis to help him up off the floor since he knew that *WASN'T RIGHT!!* At exactly 3 min & 45 secs into the video, look 👀 who's holding Larry back from Kareem. 😏

It was just a regular 2 shot shooting foul. 🙂 lol gots to love the old days! No technicals no nothing on the Kareen flailing elbow.

I can't believe you base your opinion off of highlights. Kareem was being a Savage the entire game.

Here's some background on the foul on Rambis. First off, flagrant fouls didn't come around for another 10 years. The Celtics felt they'd been playing the Lakers too soft and vowed not to allow easy layups in this game. McHale said he was going for the ball and didn't intend to clothesline Rambis. It looked bad so I dunno about that but I do know McHale didn't have a rep as a dirty player and wasn't known for hard fouls. At that time lots of teams had hockey style enforcers who'd make it very painful to drive to the basket or contest for rebounds but that wasn't part of McHale's game.

Kareem was always a big baby. He can't control his anger, and he can't back it up. Great player, and I like him as a person, but he always had a history of losing his cool and looking foolish. Bird would have hurt him badly.

Not sure what the call was, I do know nobody got any technical fouls, just not sure about flagrant.
