Thank you so much for making your work and producing this beautiful content! You have inspired me to create more of what I enjoy again as I was getting so overwhelmed and wrapped up in the trends and needs of social media I forgot to slow down and do what I actually enjoyed. Never stop making! Your work is so beautiful ❤️

Woah, this is gorgeous! I saw some other pieces in the series through the shorts, I absolutely adore the subject matter of human architecture being retaken by nature and the way you capture the colours and vibes is just so cool, I love it. :D

Just curious about the fixative, does it actually help seal the paint? I always thought it was best for dry media (pencil, charcoal and pastel). I was always told to seal gouache with wax because it can be reactivated with a fixative, since it adds moisture. Absolutely love the piece! :D

Opaque paint always seems so hard to master for me.. when you put down a dark base that covers a large part of the sketch, do you redo the sketch? Have another copy of the sketch to the side? Go from memory?

Saw this video and thought this would be a great way to finish my paintings because I also work in gouache. I bought the same Spectrafix Fixative and I’m so glad I did a test before applying to a finished painting because it did not work! Completely bled paint everywhere, how did you stumble on this product? I’m using Liquitex Acrylic Gouache or Windsor & Newton gouache and have been using Talens watercolor matte varnish, but it’s very smelly and thought this would be a good alternative. Not sure why the spectra fix didn’t work?

Wonderful painting....I see that you are using acrylic gouache. Am I correct that acrylic gouache does not reactivate when you paint over top with another layer, as regular gouache will (reactivate)?
@kathrynrussell3934

That is correct! Acrylic gouache brings the best of both products. The matte look of gouache and the opacity and permanence of acrylic :)

@@kathrynrussell3934I see you are using Spectrafix Degas Fixative… on your Acrylic Gauche paintings as a coat, yet as the company says… Please note: it is not designed as a final varnish for acrylic or oil paintings…Do you varnish with a water based product after using this Spectrafix?
