I was in Iraq and he came out on the uso tour. He did his bit and came over to the side of the stage and sat in a chair right next to me for the rest of the show. He talked to me for over an hour just about my family and what it's like being in the Marine Corps in a warzone. It was like talking to a family member. He asked for my address, wrote it down, and gave me his email address. Every month we were in country he sent care packages for my entire unit. Such a nice guy.

Wow….that is such a testament to the potential of the human race. I am referring to both of you guys….RW as someone that has everything available to him….such as, the power to bypass lines….the power I am referring to…he has earned and it is given to him thru the love that his popularity has afforded him. Most men if offered that level of power and praise would not b as level-headed and rational. Not so down to earth and humble…..Now I can’t even begin to imagine what that man must have been going thru in his own head. That level of popularity I just mentioned can do more damage than it can improve mental health. It is isolating in the most extreme way. The quote “ most men live lives of quiet desperation” comes to mind when thinking of Mr. Williams….he will never be forgotten. The human race also has men like you….unselfish and willing to sacrifice his entire existence. One that is willing to risk everything he will ever have known or ever will know, such as time with family, watching his kids grow, loving his wife, even his own life…. Not for someone he personally knows, but for the greater good of his country. Sure, if he doesn’t lay it all down…..someone else will. But u don’t think like that, do you ? No, I do….bcuz I’m just an average Joe. So thank you both for being wonderful representatives of the dominant creatures living on this planet. U make us look good. I salute u, and I say a prayer for Mr Williams. Much love.

@stephen-paulortiz768 well said! Before when people would say thank you for your service it always felt unnatural for me to say you're welcome. There are so many others close to you that made the ultimate sacrifice that it's hard to accept praise. As I've moved on from the military the answer changed to "it was my pleasure". It made me who I am today and that in itself was worth all of it and I'd do it again, no hestitation. I was truly humbled by RW. After speaking to him I knew for a fact he would make good on his promise to keep in touch. The care packages were the icing on the cake. For someone of that status to go out of his way for someone like me and my brothers, it reminded us that the majority of people appreciate what we sacrifice.

I had my daughter with me who was only 3 or 4 at the time and he walked up to us and said hi then proceeded to bend down and introduce himself to this child in the most gentle, caring way you can imagine. I took a quick picture of that and he continued to talk to her for a few minutes. Just a gentle, kind human being from what I saw in that interaction. He seemed to genuinely love children.

As a kid born in ‘90, I grew up with Robin William’s incredible movies. I will always be grateful for being able to witness the magic he put into his roles, making it so realistic. “Jack” was my favorite movie growing up and watching it as an adult, it hits even harder and will never get old to me 🥹🥹 Rest in eternal paradise dear Robin, and a very sincere thank you 😥😥🤧

Everyone (well mostly) cries when remembering RW even if you never meet him because he was such a comforting person with all the characters he played. He was familiar and his presence made you feel calm. He was entertaining on all levels. He made everyone laugh young and old alike. We all ask the same question of why he decide to do as he did. Most of us maybe none of us expected it. To think that he suffered alone while masking a loving smile is what burdens me the most. He is sincerely and truly missed.
