i had something similar, everything was perfect dated for about month kissed she said she kept relationship going hoping for a spark. but in end she broke up with me. saying that no chemistry / no spark from the kiss. we had heaps of compatibility like talking 2-4 hours on phone, laughing heaps. feel comfortable , eye contact, time moves fast. by end she also said your good guy just not compatibly ( but i wonder if its because she is Sikh maybe its more of a culture or family or something )

A lot of good insight here. As someone who spent his formative years in France but then came to the states in my 30s, I’ve been highly confused by the differences in dating culture here. For one, the buildup TENDS to be slower in the US than in Europe (due to America’s Puritan past), but also there is this element of “status” undergirding the conversations men and women have that simply doesn’t happen in Europe (and, insofar as it does, what constitutes “status” is very different). It would be considered uncouth in Europe to place yourself on a status pedestal the way American women desire men to do. European countries went through centuries of brutal class societies - e.g. feudalism, early industrial capitalism - which naturally leads Europeans to be turned off by boorish pronouncements of status (and this is a major reason Americans are seen as being so rude in other countries). So these “nice guy” traits tend to work a lot better in Europe because women there genuinely want a humble, stoic, friendly guy. Insofar as something akin to status matters, it is more intellectual . . . Like you speak more languages, are more conversant about literature and philosophy, have been published . . . Things American women could give a flying fuck about.

Jeez, this is spot on bro. i had a really great date with a lady, we had fun, laughed, talked about a variety of topics after calling for hours the day before. And after the date, she's like....that was a great date, but I don't just feel the 'spark'. She called it "lacking sexual chemistry". I was extremely confused after that and I queried her on this. The only thing she said is "it's my gut feeling", I wasn't attracted to you, you felt more like a friend. I was like...what? We have lots of similarities, I was very kind and we disagreed about a few things which led to an interesting discussion. The desire you are talking about was clearly there on my part and we had a great time. I really don't understand how women just dropping something like "no spark" and get very defensive. I know it's a DNA thing and what you say here is really true, I know. It's keeping a balance between, confidence, nice and the captain of your own life. Owning your own space. Women seem to have an antenna for that or something. How to keep the balance between these and not becoming a dick? I would like women to answer the question too. I'm extremely confused, but just want to learn. What's the "desire" and the balance between a man in control, confident and leading, but not becoming a dick and not being friendzoned after one date.

If you are too passive this will be a problem. I have never heard this phrase until yesterday. I became single 3 weeks ago and I met a girl who was reserved, a bit shy etc. She was not easy to flirt with and be physical with. Very har to read. This made me passive and guess what next day she told me there was no chemistry. Rather be a bit too direct than passive. As someone who came out of a long relationship I felt uncomfortable, especially with this shy girl. Now, chemistry goes both ways and women should try to be flirty, open and approachable. Being super shy and reserved as a woman can also lead men into not making a move. Advice for guys is to go for it and escalate. For women. Don't be too reserved. Show some response when he flirts with you (if that's what you want).

As a woman, the number one thing I look for in a guy first and foremost is if they are considerate or not. So holding the door open for me, or pulling out my chair to sit down kind of stuff. This also means considering my input and feelings when deciding what to eat for dinner or where we should hang out. I want a guy to lead and be dominant, but ALSO to show that he is considering me. Men, if you can find the balance there, you'll never be friend-zoned again!

It can be dangerous for a woman to be completely honest. Men are generally physically stronger and as a chick I've dealt with a lot of men who have handled rejection badly and made me fear for my safety. Guys probably don't think of this because they are men and have the physical advantage. But for women it is a real risk. So we have to soften the blow as much as possible to ensure our own safety. Also, when we say there is no chemsitry, this isn't a lie. It might not be the ENTIRE truth, but it's not a cop out either.

Okay, now you, mate... you really opened my eyes. And i just only regret not watching this video like 2weeks ago. A girl i dated a few times, we kissed a few times, had a lot in common like sense of humour, she laughed a lot and honestly on whatever i said (and found out a bit funny)... she wrote me yesterday that she want to be honest with me, but she think we should stop seeing each other. That she doesn't think she treats me the way i deserve (coz like you said in the video - i was just acting so nice and cool but always gave a choice and wanted to know if she likes it). That she had a great fun with me but she doesn't feel that chemistry and I should focus on someone who could actually return it the same way. And of course i played that cool that i understand and she offered we can still play some board games (she introduced me to her friends and we played one evening - everybody liked me, at least i guess) Weell.. yeah, of course i'm kinda devastated and a liiiiil bit desperate inside. So my question is: Is it possible (no matter how long it takes or how much effort I have to put in myself) that she'll change that decission? Is it possible that some spark could ignite the passion and burn the words she already wrote? (how poetic, huh?) Regards from Czechia :)

Thats how chemistry is built

I have been with a guy for almost six months. He is so nice and caring, we have a lot of common interests and we can discuss for hours. The problem is EXACTY the one you are referring to. He doesn't take the lead of his own life, neither the lead in our relationship. I believe I am a powerful woman, with very much potential in my life, but I think that I lack a person that can support me like a captain, as you said. I feel like I am the captain of the relationship, and that's what makes me not feel that feminine. Even sex feels uninteresting and tiring, because I can't get leaded by him. He is much less passionate than other guys I used to date. Like he doesn't even know what passion is... It's difficult to put an end to it, because I know it will really hurt him...

Too many times ive had to take the lead and it does become boring. But men should always remember shes seeinf you in the first place because she likes you so go with that be happy and enjoy the experience and if nothing comes of it so what. We kissed again at the beggining and the end of the date, but I felt the mood was bad. The same at the 6'th date. I even told here that at the end of the 6'th date. Guys, it is only partially correct. When we say there's no chemistry that's true- we don't want to get intimate with you. Period. The advise to "be a man and lead" is absolutely on point and yes- totally follow it. Nobody wants a younger brother but a partner they can lean on. I also would like to mention that it's not JUST THE BEHAVIOUR. I met so called "alpha male" and as long as his behaviour was spot on- he simply wasn't my type physically and the thought of him getting to kiss me was repulsive. On the other hand I dated a man who eas extremely my type physically but behaved the way that I developed sisterly/motherly feelings towards him. I was the one initiating dates or when I complimented him saying he looks sexy in particular way he denied with a chuckle... So yes if you can correct this unattractive behaviour go for it but if she's still not digging it- accept it and move on. It happens to all of us that we might like someone who has no interest in us. That's life.

That’s great but what if you as the guy aren’t attracted to and kind of annoyed by women who want to be led all the time?

I really would love someone to talk to about this.. I've connected with someone for the past year going to music festivsls with them and just texting talking everyday cuz we live states away. Over new years eve night i gave myself to her intimately and i felt such a deep connection with her. But the next day i left the hotel she text me saying she was curious how she would feel doing that with me and that she has liked me bwfore but that the feelings changed. She said she had a dream that made her think of someone else who kives in the area she will be moving to in a week.. she wants to remain in my life forever and still be friends.. i just feel very lost and ..just meh..

I'm a woman and this seems very patriarchal or something. I don't want an equal man who asks where I want to go? I just want to follow? ummm... maybe you just haven't found the right girl for you yet. Maybe that's the answer. My advice is to just be authentic and when the right girl comes, you'll know and she'll desire you. The end. You're welcome.

I've recently had a girl say this after full on chasing me for 4 months she said there was no "next level connection" we have views that dont align. Is there a way to salvage this? I know she finds me attractive because we spent 4 months talking via video chat, text, and a couple in person dates also kissed

This girl once told me we didn’t have chemistry, but we had sex the same night a few hours after she said that. I didn’t do anything different besides stop trying to engage, I was just chilling after. What does that mean? Women can be strange

No, that's a classic sh*t test. She wanted to see if you respected her boundaries, she wanted to see if she was safe with you. The best answer is to not talk and just backtrack a bit with the sensual advances. She understands that you understood and accepted her "message" ("respect me and don't judge me as a hore!"). Once she has understood, you are greenlighted to go ahead! You could possibly have backtracked by random chance or without a conscious choice, but she still got satisfied by your reaction and... BHAM!

What she means is, be on your A game, new clothes clean stylish hair no flaws. She wants Perfection. Never expect anything from an online App. EVER! Because in person you can read the desire coming from the opposite sex thru their eye contact. Online, this piece to the puzzle is skipped. Delete all apps! Only approach someone that shows interest.

TheSingleGuy is only 1/4 correct. Women give this excuse to many situations. Situation#1: She has no desire in you. Situation#2: She feels that you have no desire in her. Situation#3: The desire is there, but you and her mentally don't click. Situation#4: She desires you, but she is looking for marriage material. How women desire men? 1) Not by age. For example, a 24 years old woman can have desire for a 74 years old man. 2) Desire for women is both emotional and physical. So as long you look fit and strong, then the physical is good. Even if you are 18 years old but look thin and frail, she will have no desire for you. Women Insecurity: No matter how gorgeous the woman is, she will always feel insecure about her body. Her weight, curves, skin tone, hair, nail, age, etc. The only insecurity that men have about their body are muscles and height.

Pretty spot on especially with the age difference and desiring someone who looks strong and fit.

Agree. 1. Yes 2. Yes, BUT: You wanna feel like he'll be able to protect you. I simply do not feel attractive with a short, frail man. Maybe if I was equally petite... But as a thick woman I do look for this. Also no- he does not need to bw fit. He can be fat, as long as he's taller than me. Having that said - emotional is what I put 70-80% on. Looks matters less.

I've been physically fitter then most of the girls I've met, last year I've been beefing up in the gym with weights I train with a PT and run 8-10 miles, yet I still get the no chemistry from 90% of women I meet. It all a load of crap what been sewn into people heads with dating.

Didn’t help he waited till the 3rd date to kiss her, you have to sexualize as soon you can. Otherwise the interaction isn’t man to women

There's something to this. I always end up in a friendly kind hearted space (I do a lot of heart meditation). I don't often end up in a dominant kind of space and it feels unnatural to me.
