Gary Chapman said that Grant was having an affair on him with Gill. There is no excuse for having an affair. Ever. And the only moral/Biblical grounds for divorce are physical or sexual abuse, adultery, emotional abuse, abandonment of the Christian faith, or abandonment by one spouse upon another. I am the opposite of you -- I used to think it was fine for Amy and Vince to leave the spouses and marry each other. In retrospect, and knowing what I know now from God's word, I can clearly say what they both did WAS WRONG. I am not suggesting that they divorce again...... but we have to evaluate right or wrong through the lense of scripture.

@Vince Gil Good Morning Vince! It was a pleasant surprise to hear from you today! I actually watched Amy's Age to Age concert from 1982 this morning with Gary Chapman. Wow! I wish I could have been there. I grew up singing In my church youth choir and we performed many musicals. So much fun! I also write poetry that has been published and I have been to book signing at Mounds Park In Anderson, IN. It is about "SPRING MILL STATE PARK". I ALSO WRITE POEMS ABOUT MY RELATIVES AND FRIENDS USING EACH OF THEIR NAMES WHICH DESCRIBES HIGHLIGHTS OF THEIR LIFE. I WROTE A POEM CALLED " God's Love Never Changes" which was inspired when my parents Divorced in 1982 when I was 18 years old and a freshman at University of Indianapolis. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder in 1983 and was a hospitalized during my 21st birthday in October 13th. You and Amy's music helped me with my depression. It is a chemical imbalance in the brain. I played the piano and sang to cope with it too. I took lessons forv12

It was summer, I was 19, and on a forest fire fighting crew. On my day off I was walking down a mountain road toward a store. A pretty little teenage girl and her best friend were walking past me going in the other direction. She had to be 12 or 13. She turned and sweetly smiled at me, and I have never been the same. That smile melted me. I turned into jello. It shook me to my core so hard that I got down on my knees behind a tree, and cried hard for half an hour. She was so lovely -- not just cute and beautiful but lovely. She was too young and I never saw her again. But I am in love with her to this day.

Marriage is sacred . But true love is a Devine gift. And sometimes you are married to the wrong person when the right one does come along. So we should not judge as that is up to God and only God Sometimes you end up with the wrong person and your heart is heavy, l don't think it's right to go thru your whole life like that. If you feel that way you cannot make your spouse happy either so l think its wrong for both of you to stay together under those conditions True deep love is a gift from above and l personally feel that even though divorce is really awful you should never let that deep love slip away . I find this truly heartbreaking that he wrote this song about Amy Grant and he was married to Janis at the time. He stayed married to her for a couple of years after that. Why live a lie when you know that your heart belongs to someone else. I truly feel that he should have divorced Janis if he knew that he was in love with Amy. Why put someone through all that heartache. I feel like he let his marriage slip right through his hands. I don't feel that he even wanted to try with Janis any longer. The least he could have done was to have told her the truth. Janis found out by finding a love letter from Vince to Amy where he professes his love to her. So very hurtful and unfair on so many levels.😢😢😢😢
