And even after multiple abscessed teeth, more than 20 kidney stones, two broken vertebrae as one of many injuries sustained when someone tried to beat me to death with a skateboard, and all manner of normal clumsy person injuries, it is still the most painful thing I've ever experienced. This is insane!!! I’ve worn glasses since I was five and legally blind. I wore contacts for only high school only because I begged my my doc. They felt like glass and I had to use drops all day. There is no way I could have dealt with leaving them in. I’m not even a Lasik candidate.

I honestly can't imagine wearing contacts for that long. I decided to try them when the pandemic first started because wearing a mask kept fogging up my glasses. There were a couple pros but mostly they drove me crazy. I was very aware at all times there was something on my eyeballs - and that was with dailys.

You can get anti-fog solution that works like a charm whilst wearing masks. I got some because I’m very new to glasses and need to wear a clear visor face shield at work in a pool. Between the face shield and my glasses fogging up, it was hell. At least with the spray my glasses don’t fog up nearly as much whilst in the pool and never whilst out wearing a mask. It’s by Zeiss. I’d highly recommend.

I have keratoconus, I'm currently wearing glasses but I think I'm headed for contacts very soon. I have to hold my phone or books etc at arm's length to read them clearly. I'm freaking out because they can't be the soft ones

I started wearing glasses when I was 4, tried contacts for a while a couple times (daily ones, reusing things that go in my eyes gives me the heeby jeebies), then gave up and got Lasik. No regrets.

I always wore my contacts way longer than I should and one day my eyes rebelled and I developed an allergic reaction to the protein that builds up on the contacts. Let me tell you, a rash on the inside of your eye lid is a great deterrent to over wearing contacts. I still can wear them almost a decade later. Still get that damn rash after just a few hours.

I felt that OMG in my soul, especially as a fellow healthcare worker who's had it with people being this stupid and having to cater to them. I also have very blue eyes and people always think I'm wearing contacts but I have never worn contacts or glasses ever. This also reminds me of the idiot that had 28 DISPOSABLE contact lenses in their eyes because logic and basic understanding apparently eluded them 😑🤦🏼

I’m someone who hates their natural eye color, mostly because it’s my sperm donor’s and he was a goddamn monster, but hey: I believe there’s surgeries that let you change eye color. It’s something I’ve looked into so I can help myself to feel better about my eye color

If you mean those surgeries where they implant you coloured linses : DO NOT! There are so many people going blind because of them, it seems fine at first but for many after some years the pain start, and at thies point its often already to late to save your vision

Depending on what color they are now and what you want to change it to... I know of at least one medication that can have a side effect of changing blue and green irises to brown.

Please know that there are millions of people with your eye color. Also, there are worse things than disliking the color of your eyes. I have worked with people who are blind and I would never want to endanger my vision.

Hi everyone just some advice, if an eye infection is to occur, please do not bin your contact lenses. Remove then and cease wear immediately however, take them to your local primary care service in a case. If there is an infection they can swab the lens and potentially begin the correct treatment faster.
