Billy Moore, I work with homeless, drug and alcohol dependent and ex prisoners, I discovered your channel about two or three weeks ago, for the most part I never get to find out what happened to the people I have tried to help, but watching this video shows me, the work I do can sometimes help people, you are an amazing man Billy who has been through a lot, keep up the good work, love your channel.

Billy When I first meet you near Williamson Square by chance the last thing I ever thought would be you sharing this very moving video on your road to recovery. I felt very moved and humbled. Especially when you said it was the first time you felt you belonged and was welcomed . I also felt a certain pride when you spoke to the passers-by and said that you were there 20years ago and evidently you were successful.

What a beautiful place, such gorgeous grounds. It must make you feel really proud billy to see how much your life has changed for the better! Such a gift to have recovery in your life, I have a younger brother who’s been to rehab many times and it hasn’t worked for him yet!! I still have hope though! He’s wasted so much of his life in and out of prison.😢 Hope Terry is okay and doing well! haven’t him on here since his holiday x

Very very lucky to be sent there Bill it’s absolutely Beautiful & if you wasn’t going to carry on with your recovery there & successfully beat your Demons there l don’t think you would beat them anywhere anywhere 🤷🏼♀️l went to a retreat with the Nun’s my Auntie had been there a couple so she sorted it for me and l thought l was in heaven ! The peace , tranquility and the grounds reminded me of there & it was were l needed to be at that exact time and everyone there was there for me and as you you said showed you love with out you even knowing you needed it and lve never looked back, so l understand exactly what you’re saying, so thanks for bringing back some of my own memories and maybe one day lie go back like you did & show them my appreciation hopefully it’s still a Retreat! But what a lovely place Barley Wood is 🌸🌺

Beautiful place that Billy, you look a bit emotional, cos you know you've got a lot to thank this place for, it saved your life Billy, well done sir, you've come a million miles, absolutely stunning place, did this place give you inspiration Billy. I'm in a 33 yr addiction, never done rehab, detox, nothing, I'm still on 90 mil, and that's the lowest I've ever been on, i was taking 175 mil a day plus alcohol, benzos, and half gram of gear a day, now I still have a dabble, blow out 1/2 times a month, but I come off the bevvy 6 years ago, and I stopped the benzos, and I get 200 mils of pregabs a day, but I do struggle, i hate it but it's all I've known since I was 11 , I've took some kind of drugs since then, and it terrifies me mate, i wish I had the strength of ppl in the comments, but well done to you Billy, and shout out, Helen and Gill 💙. Gwan Billy, you're smashing it now lad. Moral billy, always have a spare pair of kex, cos u never know, ha ha 😆✌️😎.

Great video Billy a had same experience as you but in a place called castle Craig in the Scottish borders a had same street mentality a was closed right up it took a wile for me to break down the walls that a covered myself in a felt right out of place the other residents wer acting different from me they wer nice to each other loving and caring with each other this was new to me first a thought they wer softies or bible thumpers but through time a got humble and started telling the truth to myself and others a had to get rid of the street mentality which took some doing as it was all a ever knew anyway now am 10 year clean and sober and fit in society cheers Billy ❤ Willie from glasgow

Wow Billy, that was a big one for me to see all round there again, and I too remember you walking in, but I stood off a bit in the reception near the bay window, I thought he looks a handful ! 😂 no joke, cos you’d come in with weight on from prison like you said and I turned up a week or 2 earlier than you at about 10 stone ringing wet and carrying two bags of clothes. You should have put the photo I sent you of you stood outside the front door ( you were still in your first week or two of Barleywood stage on that pic ) When you walked round the grounds filming there it really hasn’t changed a bit, and I too used to enjoy sitting round that fish pond ( because I’m an avid angler and a proper water baby ) very peaceful round that end of the grounds, like the bottom tier of the lawns and bushes area etc . The Irish lad was called Jayson I think, him and that lad from reading used to show us all pickpocketing tricks in the hallway in our down time.

I want to live again, come back from the living, dead, wake up after a good night sleep,a proper sleep,57 now, need to get it together before my life passes me by ,if I get 20 good years together, will bring me to 77,I would die a happy man,my last 20 years free, that would be enough now at my age, life is f - - - - - crap,if I didn’t have me Mam, I would take a load of meth, and diazepam, and pregabalin, and just take the quick route, but when you have special mam like me,it’s not so easy to turn the lights out ,she’s been up to see me in every jug I’ve been in over the years, private cash etc, tobacco, you name it,never drugs though, hates them with venom, and dealers,so I love her to death,I’ve got a boss Mar,would love to do it for her .

Wow I bet we only got a snippet of the thoughts this must’ve invoked in you, good and bad. I was hooked on weed for about 30 years (I know not a hard drug but it’s the addiction gene that keeps you there) I managed finally, and I know it was final to kick it last March. I knew the chains had finally come off. There’s no better feeling than looking back at your old life and feeling strong and confident you’ll never return to that way.
