Yup. It's Entrapment they do. They will tell you it has to be done by this time or "In a timely manner". Then call you to meetings, check ins, ask you to do something else, help someone else for a minute... then when your original assignment is behind or not done, they write you up for insubordination or slacking. It's pretty classic of sabotage micromanagement, that way they get to make everyone else look incompetent, while they are the "Hero that keeps the store working well." Then they get bonuses / raises / promotions. They don't care if they get a hundred other people fired, as long as they get more. If I see a micromanager, I automatically assume they are a psychopath or sociopath, because they have ZERO empathy about ruining others lives for their own benefit.

I honestly think that my manager doesn’t like me nor respect me, because I just got accepted into nursing school and as much as I’m trying to focus on myself and my future, my manager told me that it’s more important to put my job first right now. Talk about micromanagement, my boss would actually "correct" my emails before sending them to other departments or "correct" my analysis only to get rejected by the upper management. After this happened a few times she stopped "correcting" me and the analysis stopped getting rejected. She would ask questions about why do I look tired and that I should get better sleep to be fit at work, even though she knew I had a newborn baby. The list goes on and on. Some people are not in control of the situation so they put pressure on other people to cover for their incompetence.

I’ve even looked them in the face and said, I’m gonna do what I do and if you don’t like it I don’t care. Also we’re losing more and more people. Basically no managers remaining Cept for the 3. Yeah I have a “supervisor” but she basically doesn’t exist. We’ve had to have the district manager come in time and time again. Glad we’re cool and she tends to not only ignore me but get on my micromanagers. It’s very cathartic lol
