George, I have watched a couple dozen Ariens videos you've done as I am trying to revive my SRM1030, which was in storage but its tarp leaked & it got wet over years. Because of a video in which you worked on a carb I see a way to replace the carb not for $100 retail OEM but $10 discount model. $90 means a lot to me. No other source of info came close to the clarity of yours. You deserve many thanks. Glad you are better!

So glad you have the steering in shape now and hasn’t taken a bad turn 😊👍 Please pray for my Mom. She is recovering from a broken collarbone and a mini stroke. She is making good progress on her recovery so far

I am running behind on watching videos. I have had a lot going on with Mom, work and dealing with a contractor and a few doctors appointments. Got good reports from all my doctors. So sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. Will be praying for you my friend. Hope your feeling better now and have a Great day!

Oh George, the joys of getting older. :) Every now and then we get that reminder that we aren't quite as young as we used to be. Very familiar this myself recently. Good plan on the set screw double-play. Should work well I think. Glad you are on the mend and hopefully progress towards feeling yourself again continues.

Woohoo, proof of life! Lol, just kidding George 😜😜 I'm glad you're feeling better! I wonder if your dizziness is/was Blood Pressure related? That was an interesting find on that steering shaft.

Not sure about the cause, but the BP was fine. I think it was God's way of getting me to slow down for a few days...I'm feeling much better now. Thanks Neil!

Good to see you George! Glad you're feeling better. It's good to hear you didn't have to tear the gearbox apart. Have you thought of cutting a keyway in the shaft and keying it?
@TheShadeTreeFixitMan
Ай бұрын
I had thought about that but hope and think that this recess for the set screw should be sufficient, don't you think? It would have been all hand work to cut a key slot since the little stub does not separate from the bearing or carrier. That piece of shaft was originally part of the electric motor that powered this electric assist steering box. Fun stuff huh? Thanks Ken.

I turn everything off when I leave the shop and no, I haven't yet fixed the street lamp. Guess I should bring it up to my office and fix it up here, eh?

George, I can't remember if you know Ron (Wally66) But his wife, Aimee pasted away just a day or two ago. If you do know him reach out to him if you can. Thanks, I'm not too good with things like this.

I have been in close contact with Ron, throughout his wife's ordeal. She is at peace now and eventually Ron will get used to being without her, though never missing her. I have been praying for them all along the journey. Thanks Duke
