As some of you may know, a grainy recording exists of The Beatles covering this song at the Star Club in Hamburg, Germany circa 1962. It's a wonderful song, and Arthur Alexander's music always needs more attention these days. So I figured I'd cover it using The Beatles' arrangement with sort of a "live" feel to it. So here it is, including my "live take" George Harrison style solo.
Something I found a bit interesting - I believe John plays the rhythm guitar as shown here, all super easy with absolutely no movement. That's right, the entire song can be played without moving past the 3rd fret. I've heard people jumping up to the 5th fret to grab a Dm (and sometimes going higher for the Bb), but I just can't imagine John Lennon doing that - especially while singing. This is the lazy man's way of playing, and the Dm is just a funny way of chording it where you play the F on the D string (at the 3rd fret) instead of leaving it open. Both John and George used this chord formation frequently!
