I'm glad you liked the bees and earth magic vibes in Chalice! 😄 I felt similarly about The Boy... book - I liked it a lot but I think because I had already seen a lot of quotes from it it didn't have the same impact on me when I finally read it myself

When the pandemic started I also went back and re-read all of the Tamora Pierce books I loved as a tween - I think as a kid my favorite was Song of the Lioness but as an adult I loved Protector of the Small!

Protector of the Small is now my favorite too! Maybe we just needed to mature a bit to fully appreciate it haha😄

It brings me soooo much joy to see you back on here! Glad to hear that you have been doing well and that the break was rejuvenating, I love that for you! Congrats on the move, I hope you feel at home there! ❤ Anyway, sounds like you have been having some great fun with your reads. I would love to see a video covering the Tamora Pierce books where you compare your first and second reads with each other! All the love for rereading! I have also been dipping into some queer romances this summer because I needed those comfort reads. Some of my favourites were The Charm Offensive by Alison Cruch and D'Vaughn and Kris Plan a Wedding by Chencia C. Higgins. I still need to read Felix Ever After, let's do that soon! 🤩 Lots of love 🥰

Thank you 💛💛💛. As I settle in and decorate it feels more and more like home I will definitely be comparing my childhood opinions of Tamora Pierce with my now opinions! I'm going to look those up for the next time I'm in a romance mood!

Welcome back! It's lovely to see you posting again. I've missed your videos but appreciate the fact you needed time away. I've just recently finished The Dawn Stag by Jules Watson and it now sits firmly as one of my all time favourite series. I just loved it. I haven't read The Boar Stone but it sounds like I don't need to get to it any time soon. I'd be more than happy to see some apartment content. I imagine your decor will be inspired by nature and I'm all for that haha. Have a great weekend

I'm so glad you loved the Dalriada books! The first two are fantastic! You are correct, my decorating involves a lot of plants and a lot of books🌱📚

Hi Huck! Im really happy to see a new video from you!! Im pleased to hear that you have moved to a lovely new place and are settling in well! My summer has been a good one, but I definitely read less over the summer. We have just got back from a lovely sunny summer holiday abroad and im really feeling that autumn vibe and very much looking forward to cosy evenings reading in bed or by the fire.

So glad to see you again! And glad you’re doing well! I definitely read less in the summer too but it’s my busy season because I have a huge garden and I do lots of canning.

I didn't think the protagonist being introduced to sex at a young age was uncomfortable at all. If anything, it made the worldbuilding and story more fascinating. I agree with most of your other criticism, though. I felt like some of the character's had too much insignificant backstory that sort of bogged the story down; Hyacinthe, for example. I had a hard time understand which character belonged to which faction as well just because there were so many of them. I kept flipping back to the list of character houses at the start of the book to see which character was which, but then I started to give up on that because it was so tiring and just started guessing who was who.
