Since they put a nice emphasis on Instagram , a question would be how much does the artist followers matter to them if the talent is there do they overlook you just cause you got 200 followers?

Yall cant be looking for 'different' if yall keep signing carbon copy artists that sound like the popular mainstream sound. Yall definitely aint looking for the most talented lyricists either because let's just be real...I'm out here. #SupastarRell #LordOfTheRealms Other than that one love, good info. #FuckTheIndustry #FamilyGang #KEEPSLEEPING

its not everyone at the labels, its the machine. same way with the police, most of em are good dudes tryna do right, then they became a cop (or get a job at a label) and in order to keep that job they wanted they have to conform to the unified body they work for. plenty of people at labels wanna do right, thats why they chose that path in the first place but not only is there the over-arching agendas, theres also the fact that so many talented people just arent worth doing business with, and on top of that the true artists of today are far less interested in the labels because the sentiment that they are the only avenue to a career in music is dead. as a business its much easier and economical to push bullshit "artists" who can be easily taken advantage of with no consequences, particularly when the general music consumer has already been fooled into consuming whatever appears to be popular. they dont have to do anything, they take some kid, dress him up, have producers make some bs music with him, and then put up a front like hes "hot" and those consumers will buy into it because they believe it when they're told that hes already popular. if you dont care about music and only about money what sense does it make to go through the trouble of signing actual artists? look at history, the past century or so and you can see the gradual shift they made, especially with rap music/black music in general, of phasing out actual artists who take work and are less tolerable to bad business (straight robbery really). they successfully shifted the general consumers behavior and now they have to do no work for more money. you wanna know why they dont do real music theres your answer. why would they.

so if you really want a deal and arent willing or capable of putting in the work to be a career-long independent business, than maybe you should look into smaller labels with honest track records. regardless though in todays age you're going to have to do a lot of work yourself before you get any help, and if you havent done that work and you're offered that help anyways than more than likely its just someone trying to fuck you. even an investor is probably just hedging a small bet that "ok I spend a few thousand dollars and on the off chance this guy does something/makes it I'll get a huge % return for the rest of his career, & if not a fucked off a few grand, so what.".\ I know you didn't ask for my opinion, but in general I would say get some traction before you decide to do anything big. for one you need the traction to get any sort of deal anyway, and getting a deal with no traction is like going to the grocery store when you're hungry. maybe you already have traction idk you but keep doin ya thing dawgy, you can do it yourself nowadays.
Meek is not a superstar. He's a respected figure in Hiphop but in pop culture his biggest moment was the Drake shit.

Only thing I really disagree with them on is the website. sure, you *can* use instagram instead of your website, but instagram isn't yours and you also cant control the experience on instagram. if your website is just some bullshit than yeah fuck your website but if your website is dope and you can incentivize people to be there, especially if you actually have a focused strategy/campaign going on you can completely control your website and yk the people who are on it are already know who you are and have an interest in you. I cant post certain shit on instagram, I cant decide the user xp on instagram, I cant upload whatever format I want on instagram, if I use a link from or the name of anything but instagram on instagram it gets censored, I could go all day. instagram is a great tool for awareness and taking people from awareness to interested, I have no problem with giving content to instagram or youtube or facebook etc. but why would you only give that to other platforms and not to your own? shouldn't even be sayin this shit but whatever.
