Remember to share your health & safety lead and lag indicators, and why you are monitoring them. Or maybe share those indicators that you've tried, but they didn’t work so well. Maybe some indicators that you are experimenting with right now?

I enjoyed that video, thanks. It was very professional. I have a different perspective that I'd like to share; one that is derived from economic indicators. In economics you'll often find lead, coincident and lag indicators where coincident indicators measure activity. In the example that you give re consultation prior to moving to a new business location, the leading indicators would include the number of employee suggestions implemented prior to the move (inputs), the coincident indicators would include the percentage of employees consulted, number of consultations sessions held etc. (activity), and the lagging indicator would be the cost (or estimated cost saving) of unplanned renovations and alterations post-move. What I often see is leading indicators that measure simple activity rather than meaningful inputs. An example of this would be the number of workplace inspections conducted rather than, perhaps, the number of new hazards closed within the agreed timeframe (positive leading indicator), or new hazards not closed within the agreed timeframe (negative leading indicator). The main advantage of reframing indicators into leading, coincident and lagging is that you can better measure the actual effectiveness of your activities, which is sometimes where significant improvements can be made.

Excellent talk. Concise and clear. Interestingly, you are an Aussie without the Aussie accent, which appears to be 'somewhat English' 🙂
