Thanks for the great general review! I was looking to get a pair of Rival RB50s at some point and couldn't find much about them. The RB1s were my go-to gloves for years until I switched over to my current RB11s. Looking forward to the next part!

Another great video! Can you make one on how to choose glove weight? I’m confused by whether I need 10, 12, 14 or 16 ounce gloves.

Its all about your weight and what your using them for, pads, heavy bag/ sparring or a mixture

@@peewee6187 I'm 115-120 lbs. I have bag gloves which I suppose are equivalent to 8 oz? And I got 14 oz for padwork/sparring. Is that right? What would you suggest?

@@ekatlaterrible well the 8oz sound good for mitts.I use 10oz because thats the first gloves i bought. 14oz is perfect for sparring and heavy bag at your weight. if you want to get slightly more conditioning on the mits you can use 10-12oz Only reason you should really need the 8oz if your training technique for a fight so you have that feel for the weight you’ll be fighting in.

I own one pair of Rival RB50 and I do not recommend it at all. I got the XL size and feel pretty tight and small in my hand. I'm 1.82 tall and 225lb and since day one my knuckles suffered a lot plus they have bad wrists support. It's sad because they seem to have great quality in therms of material but the padding is null and the thumb area is pretty small and weird. I got mines for 85 bucks. I do believe that they could be good for mitts but not for bag work.

How do u know your size for boxing gloves?
@kaimon123

Couple of different factors to consider: 1. Weight 2. Hand size 3. Type of training (bag work, pad work, sparring) 4. Purpose (conditioning vs speed) Generally I’d say 12 oz - 16 oz for pad / bag work and 16 oz for sparring (unless your below 130 lbs). Hope that helps!

Probably the ones that have double wrist straps. They cost a bit more, in general.
