Such a fantastic video. I wish he had talked more about hearts, I could tell he’s not a huge fan of them 😂 I love heart shapes, they’re my dream ring, but they’re DEFINITELY not for everyone

I'm gonna propose to my gf with a 1ct heart solitaire ring, it's been her dream ring since she was a kid. I didn't like the shape for a diamond at first but now I am all about it.

Heart shape diamonds are not just gorgeous but they symbolize love and passion. I don't know what that guy's problem is about heart diamonds but then again I really don't care either. :) No shape diamond is for everyone, I don't like ovals, radiant, emerald or pear shape but that just me. Love Hearts, Round, Cushion and Marquise.

Give me a heart shape diamond all day long. I have been in love with my heart shape engagement ring for 37 years now and have no intention of ever changing it out for a different shape diamond. I also have side diamonds and it looks amazing.

I loved my 2 carat heart solitaire when I got it at twenty two. Now that I’m fifty, I wish I’d have made a more classic, sophisticated choice. Actually, I started regretting the shape I chose around my early 30s. And that’s such a shame, as it’s my first/only proper engagement ring, so I never want to sell it. I’ve no daughter to pass it down to, or anyone’s daughter I’m close to has ever expressed much interest in it. From weddings I’ve attended in recent years hearts no longer seem popular, and the brides tend to want larger stones anyway. I could do the obvious and put it in a necklace or bracelet, but I feel with a diamond of that quality, it’s a shame to put it in a piece I only wear on occasion. I nearly went with a brilliant, and now wish I had. I’d discourage anyone from getting this shape, especially if they would be trying to stick to much of a budget at all. This one seemed to check every box of expensive must haves. Must be a fairly sizable stone or it’s not always clear that it’s a heart. Same with the cut. Must be extremely high in quality, because many “heart shaped” don’t even look like hearts, let alone getting maximum sparkle. Hearts easily shows any warmth so color must be up there (mine’s a D). They also are the worst drawing the eye to inclusions. So, there is none of the 4 c’s with this stone that you can really afford to comprise on at all. I’m finally getting a new stone, and going from there. But still no idea what ill do with my old one.

@@pedro-lo6co She has already stated quite clearly that she has absolutely no intention of selling it as it is her first engagement ring. The facts she pointed are actually to be considered by everyone who wishes to buy a heart shaped engagement ring as she has a quite lengthy experience with wearing one. Nonetheless,it's always one's personal preference at the end as it's something very personal.

@@juzagirlntheroom2692 I agree. My original engagement ring was a pretty heart. But over the years, my taste has changed. After much thought, I sold it. I hope it brings love & happiness to another couple. And I got a new ring for our 30th anniversary.

@@juzagirlntheroom2692 I also have a heart shape diamond engagement ring for 37 years now. I am still in love with it and have never regretted it, don't know why I would anyway as it symbolizes love and passion. The round is also beautiful and would have been my second choice, but if I were to pick all over again it would still be a heart shape diamond. You are right about it holding color so you do need to get one at a high color grade (mine is an F), however, I do not agree that it does not hide inclusions well. Mine is an SI1 which is 100% eye clean and I'm not talking just 6 to 12 inches away. It has one feather that is transparent in the pavilion and I and others have tried to find it using a magnifying glass and we could not find it, so if you know how to shop for a diamond you can get a heart in a clarity grade of an SI1 or VS2. Same with the shape of a heart, if a person knows how to pick one it will definitely look like a heart, mine does even from a distance because people have said from several steps away from me over the years - oh let me see your heart engagement ring. Mine is 0.91 ct., with side diamonds.

I'm a princess-shape woman myself, and it's the sharp geometry that I like. The cushion shape destroys that beautiful geometry by rounding the corners. Also, cushions are cut differently than the princess, and so they often don't have as much sparkle as princess cuts. If you insist on a cushion cut, she may always think of her diamond as second class.

@@edennis3202 I purchased a round diamond 2.7 it looks more like a 3 carat diamond. I visited a local jeweler and to me the 3 carat cushion looked small in comparison to the round. Less sparkle to my eye as well. My fiance is very happy with the diamond and setting I gave her. Thank you for the information

Buy her what she likes or you will be upgrading her to a cushion in 10 years. Make her happy now. She is the one wearing it, not you.
