What about bloomborrows Wrenn, the relentless or Assassins creeds Achilles Davenport; Adewale, breaker of chains; Ezio blade of vengeance; Lydia Frye and Basim Ibn Ishaq. I know that some of them arent great as commanders, but i was looking forward to hearing more about some of the possible assassins creed commanders. Personaly i think that out of all of these Basim and Wrenn could helm very fun commander decks.

48:50 I have built Umbris as a Voltron/Control deck, usually with 2/3 activation (or any grave-exile) it is able to one-shot players and being in dimir you have all the spells you need to make it unblockable and protect you and your board

I have Umbris, too. Waiting to live the dreams of using Dragon Throne of Tarkir on my board (probably not great in Voltron) and "flinging" him/draining with Rite of Consumption/Essence Harvest, respectively.

Talion is one of the best draw in cEDH - You name 2, and you can draw like 5 cards per rotation easly... This is why its problamy the only real control deck that work in cEDH (and still its not super good). Naming 0 is mistake 99% of time... 1 is OK, but really 2 is the best by far. If you like control deck, he is really good in causual too (You ca name 2 or 3 in Causal ).

You cannot name 0 for Talion. It says 1-10.

Welp, time to defend Yuriko. I can see people not liking you being able to get around commander tax (not like it is the only creature that can do this, either). As for the revealing a card and opponents losing life - ninjas _needed_ this. I had a ninja deck before Yuriko with Vela, and, well, it sucked. Most ninjas barely do any damage, and the ninjitsu effects weren't enough to make up for that. I turned that deck into Yuriko and love it. That said, I do build it more on theme and not super salty. To me, Grimgrin is more of the combo-y zombie deck. Him + Rooftop Storm + Gravecrawler + any sort of death drain effect = win. There are obviously better combos now days. Part of me wants to build Araumi, especially with Kokusho in it. Sure, two of the three will instantly die because of the legend rule, but, at minimum, each opponent is losing 15 life and you gain 45.

For Yuriko, don’t get me wrong, I’m sure there are ways to build a non-salty version of it. And ninjas definitely needed some love. I just hate how commander ninjutsu works is all. I can’t think of another commander (aside from eminence commanders) that cheat on the tax this way. Not saying there aren’t any, just can’t think of one. I’ll gladly play again Yuriko and do. Someone in my group has a pretty strong one, but it one of those decks that if they aren’t dealt with quickly it can win kinda out of nowhere. No shame if you love her! Her flavor and art are solid. Just for me personally, not a fan.

@@BRBMTG I believe Derevi is the only other one with an ability to get around commander tax. There are pseudo ones, though, like Imskir having affinity for artifacts. But yeah, solid points, and it all comes down to personal preference. Also I don't think I've ever actually won a game with my Yuriko deck 😂

Yuriko is fun because it forces interaction. There are a lot of games which only take 30 minutes compared to 2 hours, thanks to Yuriko and scroll rack. Plus it isn't as if you can't block it.

Effective card bad, joke card good. Got it. People only enjoy games that last 90+mins and build to crazy board states while simultaneously hating any control or impair their crazy do nothing but a lot combos. I think we know by now that commander players would probably have more fun just playing a board game or TTRPG, but are too lazy to learn new rules.

Hey! First thanks for watching the video. But I just to clear a few things up. What choice(s) are you talking about in particular? The point of these rankings are what I think are fun. Sometimes I'm wrong and cards I think are boring turn out to be a blast and other times the opposite is true. If you have a different idea of fun than me, that's great and I'd love to hear which commanders you think are fun I put low on the list. I'll gladly check them out in the future. Except Yuriko, had them for a bit and do not enjoy them. You're assuming a lot about how I enjoy commander from this video. I've enjoyed games that lasted 40 minutes and I've enjoyed games that lasted 2 hours. I am a massive proponent of interaction and not playing solitare. Personally, I don't enjoy playing combo decks, however I will never shame anyone who does and I've happily have and will continue to play against combos. And I do play board games, TTRPGs, and other TCGs. My entire playgroup is in a DnD campaign together and just finished up a CoC and Cyber run campaign. It's super weird to extrapolate all of that from this, or any of my videos. If you don't agree with how I enjoy commander, then this content probably isn't for you and that's okay! Maybe check out some of my other offerings and hopefully they'll inspire you to brew something that you enjoy.

@@BRBMTG This was more so a commentary on the nature and culture of commander players, not the commanders themselves. Typically effective or quick strategies are frowned upon on what is, at core, a competitively designed game. Magic has not nor will ever be what they want it to be.
